Lightbulb Exhaust DIP COATINGS

Hi all, I like to know if there is a system where mild steel exhaust components can be dipped into a solution for better coverage of hard to get places... the reason I ask is that I have built twin-skined quad pipes and I'd like to have a product applied to all surfaces inside and out. The twin-skined pipes have a 3mm air gap between them, this is where spraying a coating will not be sufficient enough to prevent corrosion.

Chromate dipping is this for all types of metals or just aluminium? and is is good stuff for appearance/corrosion?

OR is ceramic coating able to be dipped instead of static spraying?

Is there such a thing as stainless steel plating?

If anyone has any information which could help me out... please do!!!

Simmo

Hi Simon
I just got my headers back from HPC and they are done inside and out so i am assuming they where dipped
They are ceramic and you can have a choice of colours but i went with alluminium

Mine are HPC coated inside and out also. Pretty sure they dont dip them though. Phone up and ask them if they can get into the tight spaces you describe.

As far as I know dipping usually involves electroplating which dosent go well in tight spaces anyway.

The only dipping process I know of that is for protection is to hot dip galvanised (I think that is what it is called).
Most vehicle tray bodies are done this way.
