Light Me Up
I need to align my headlights and was hoping someone had some advise. I have fitted P700 headlights which look great but are pretty crappy as far as lighting up the road. Drove it the other night and they were pointed all over the place. Anyone know the method/measurements to set then up? thanks

Strange as this may sound, if you do not use a machine, use your garage door.
Park the car as perpendicular to the door as you can and turn on the lights. You can see they are all over the place.
Small screw drivers and patience.
Do this at late evening or night so you can see how you are doing.

Another way is to find a nice long flat/straight section of road at night time with no traffic around and use your screwdriver to adjust them untill you find the best setting for your car. This is a fool proof adjustment as you can see exactly where your lights are focused.... Choose a dark road with no street lighting.

Hi Leeroy
What i do is have the car on a flat surface with it about 8 metres from a wall or door and and have the beam the same height of the ground as the lights are on the car and if you have a centre line marked on the wall i use masking tape and have them the same distance apart on the wall as they are on the car
Its alot easier to do this when its abit dark

Leeroy,
Get one of your kids (if you don't have any you can borrow one of mine) and strap him to the bonnet.
Drive down a country track keeping your speed below 100 (important) and pass him a screwdriver so that he can adjust the lights to suit. Just make sure you remember to unstrap him when you have finished

Won't the wieght being added to the bonnet effect the headlight alignment once removed?

And I made the assumption that that the suspension would be pretty firm.
Seriously, measure from the floor to centre of light - mark on garage door and adjust to suit - as per Paul's suggestion.
