Richard,
you I don't forgive...
Nasty,
mostly right, but I got the car as full turn key, and have not added any bits. It's a luxury for sure.
As for the aforementioned cars, yes, I have had some of those you mention, and now I don't have any other car except the Cobra. It's all down to personal taste, I found that the other cars were just sitting in the garage gathering dust, so I sold them.
It's a healthy discussion, and one that once again proves there are a lot of folk in world who like to do things differently and have different value sets. That's why we keep the psychiatric and legal professions healthy

Of course it's worth every cent of what Cam wants for it.
In Aussieland it's a rare breed ...... not many here with FORD engines in 'em.
Cam....you moving overseas?.
Cheers

Les,
I will be heading to Beijing for the next three years. Should have some pretty good seats for the Olympics
I will be at the next two breakkies, and then preparing the Welcome mat for my Aussie Cobra mates when they visit.
I saw that those 'COBLA' plates were still available on ppq, might have to nab a set

Cameron,
Your Cobra is very special indeed and will be a fabulous investment for the right person.
Hope your sale goes well and your time in Beijing is enjoyable. I will miss you at the Nationals and Shelby Fest. Guess I'll have to find someone else to chase for the next few years.

Cameron,
Superformance may have found the niche that Robnell had in supplying quality Cobra's all be it at a price.
Check out the UK Daytona and the price they advertise - not cheap.
Such cars at such prices can do only good to the whole Cobra market in Australia.
Yes they are kit cars in that individuals can build their own, yet legislation forces the builder down the route of building a car that is of a similar standard as a mass produced production car - this should come at a price
Anything that lifts the price of such a vehicle is good for the remaining Cobra's in the market place.
To all - I've had a good look at Cameron's car (without him knowing) and this has to be the best quality Cobra in Australia (much better than a certain harlequin Cobra that won the National Show and Shine a few years back)
Compare Cameron's car to a DB9 and you would agree it is cheap for what you get.
Oh and is anybody interested in a DRB for $120k????

but...
Peter, I agree with all your comments....certainly quality Cobras on the aussie market is all good..but remember that said "harlequinn cobra" sold for just 1/2 of Cams' beautiful machine... so its relative...it not only comes down to what people are prepared to pay but also the true quality of any build. P.G's car was an awesome build in its own right IMO....but comparing it to Cams...I'll leave that to someone who is in the market..

The Superformance is a very interesting replica to be in the Aus market.
The closer you look at a Superformance, the more you realise how special it is. Just the body itself is a work of art. Gaps that us mere mortals would die for. And the shape in a lot of areas is just so different to what we have been led to believe is original...and it is an exact copy of at least one of the original cars. The more you look, the more you realise the money & effort that have gone into it's development. Just something you can't expect with our local products.
The (deceased) Robnell had some of these same features, but in my opinion isn't in the same league overall.
Interesting to compare it to P.G's Cobra. Did P.G's Cobra have any of the things that make Superformance special, nope, was it a special Cobra in it's own right, you bet.
The Superformance is in a league of it's own in Aus and as such will demand a premium in my opinion, even 2nd hand.
What's my favourite Cobra? My own builds. There is nothing like your own creation. And that's why a lot of people here wouldn't buy a Superformance. And that's why I've spent the last 12 months working on my GT40.

Peter,
believe it or not, Colin (proprietor of CTC) was not at all pleased to se Robnell cease trading. Aside from the personal angst for Rob, it reduced competition and access to very high quality factory cars.
As for your stealth missions to my car... I must get that proximity alarm connected
Every car is a work of art, and no matter how it is built, to what budget and for what purpose, there is a TON of blood, sweat, tears and heart in there. I take my hat off to all builders.

HI Cameron,
I hope you put your car in moth balls and you don't sell it. That way we know that you will be back!!!
Good luck on your move.
