Hey Nader, that looks blu$$y fantabulous, but it does remind me of what an old lady friend once said
"Man....ain't that huge"
Ferocious, I understand your concern re drawing attention to yourself. However, therein lays the very reason to get those standards set in stone.
I have been a passenger in mates cars when we have approached a DOT roadside test. The owners of these cars immediately $hit themselves because they don't know what would happen if pulled over for a check.
Would they be pulled ove and the car put off the road?.
Would they be able to drive the car home or are they going to be told to have it towed?.
How in hell can we enjoy these things when one is constantly concerned about a roadside check, or getting pulled over by an over-zealous police officer or by a snotty nosed dept of transport employee.
Sadly, even the approved inspectors have different interpretations of the rules.
If we know exactly what we can do, we can build to that standard and feel free to do what we like with those standards.
The silly things is this.....The Dept of Transport here in Queensland recognise the problem and also seek a solution. They do not like the hot rod standards and do not want other ICV groups to imitate those standards.
Hence, they are willing to consult with ICV groups/clubs with a view to establishing a reasonable set of relaxed standards, read emissions/noise etc., but need the co-operation of the clubs to pick up the ball and run with it.
Whats eventually is going to happen if standards are not relaxed for ICV builders, is that as the standards develop over time we will be forced to include technology like , air bags, traction control and all manner of things which will make it way too difficult to build an ICV.
Gotta be done ASAP.
Cheers

G'day Nader!
I was wondering when you would come out of the closet and post in this thread.
I've been watching Nader's build come together.
Les, you're spot on. It looks fabulous!
That should keep those LS1 thingys quiet for a bit!

I had a look at the Python before I bought my CR.
They were fitting a 5.4 when I was there, I just couldn't get around changing plugs from inside the footwells.
Looks trick though, that is one full engine bay!!

Fantastic engine bay
Its a pitty that the ford v8's are now bigger than the old big blocks
Have posted this picture before but its worth showing again.

- and this is the 4.6 (!)

(link to page)
Which means that for about half of us having some releif from the ADRs would be nice.
So on the Rego thing..
Have done some research and will be commencing down that road - hopefully with the CCCV's imprimata, but the first club reg - hopefully to be commenced at our next meeting.

Hi all,
There is a Cobra over at Doug Pearces factory that has a 4.6 in it. It looks great and also has a little puffer thingo on it. I think it is a CR kit..
Doug can possibly email some photos..
Now would I ever get into a discussion about LS1 in Cobras.. Mmmmmm
After seeing the LS1 at 'Aussie Mikes' I think it's a pretty good option weight wise and size etc.

Listen here uncle Bernie, stop complimenting the fella. He's the leader of the dark side. He is the fella who started all this rot.
The only good thing about him is he does like crownies. But then again.......anything is better than that stuff they brew down there.
