Smoke 'em if you got 'em
For Vic Club Members:
My brother (and co-builder) sells a lot of tyres through his service centre - mostly for new Fords (it being a Ford dealership) - but contacted his supplier re some 15/295/50s for my new rims.
They quoted him a pretty good price on a brand I haven't heard of - but the specs look good - and the rep says on occasion they'll organise deals for clubs.
So if I could have an indication of what you're running, or perhaps more importantly, what tyre sizes you'll buy and I'll see if we can organise a good looking price list for members.
Also if you have any special requests (super sticky or race specials please let me know and we'll ask - you never know your luck in a big city)

Lb, my sizes are 295/50/15 and 235/60/15.
Currently got Yokahama 352's which will do for rego and sorting then I'll get serious.
Cheers

More Details
Hello Folks
the brand of tyre is 'Jetzon', they're a US company and I believe the tyres are made in the USA.
if you want a bit of a look at the tyre range try:
http://www.jetzontire.com/theline/product.asp?id=11
you'll note that the speed rating is 'T' which is a higher speed rating than the BFGs (S) but less than the Yokies (H) - the BFGs and Yokies being the two brands that I was originally considering. Temp, grip and durability ratings are comparable to the BFGs.
I'm looking at a set in the 'traditional' 235/60/15 + 295/50/15 combo
and orginally just asked for a price on the 295's, the price I've been given is less than the BFGs (which are substantially less than the Yokohamas).
Anyway, i'm aware that a lot of you have gone for 17in rims but would still like a feel for what people are running to see if we can organise a club discount...
so if you could give me some feedback (no commitment required) - please
thankyou in anticipaiton

I currently have the tyre sizes you are looking at in the 15", but I plan on going for larger sizes when I get the next set of wheels.
Probably will look at 305 or 315 rears on 18" rims.
Cheers,
Ben

Let me know the price via PM and I will happily smoke the BFG's if they are a good price

will do Bernie
I've been waiting on some more people to respond to give the tyre guy a range to work with so that a price list for cobra owners can be put together - but so far not many responses.

Jetzons Arrive
The Jetzons arrived so I have a couple of pics to show.
I now have to declare an interest because the wholesaler gave me a substantial discount. You'll still get an honest opinion or an update on any issue that I have with them but you should know.
Haven't found out about a club price yet, was hoping for a larger response sample before getting back to the wholesalers.
anyway here are some pics...
tyres on the rims
as previously mentioned 235/60/15 and 295/50/15
after scrubbing up on the car...

I'd be interested in some 15's. Go smoke the Jetzons up and post the verdict! People could be holding back until they see a price and a review.

No, Cameron.
The Sumitomo's are still good for a few miles yet. My frequent sideways progress and piroetting at Winton makes me think these babies are built for pram-speeds in a straight line. Hence the procurement of the Vintage 17's and the Michelins. I'd just like a bit more confidence on the road.
Richard.
I was considering bringing both sets to Wakefield for an objective comparison. Mmmmmmmmmm science. 29 sleeps!

I ran Wakefield last year on street Yoko's... Exciting but not so fast.
Bring both if you can... Friday will be the day to try it all out.
