Finally it can roll around!

Just a quick update now that (eventually) I have some tyres, the chariot can be rolled around.

They are great looking rims. The stance is impressive. great job.

Thanks Steve,
I just need to finish the pipes and fuel system and I'll fire it up.
I hope it will be the incentive needed to get finished in a reasonable amount of time!!

Goodonya Gav...looks great mate.

Aussie Mike 08-22-2006 05:22 AM

Looking good Gav, That was a good choice on the wheels.

What tyres did you end up getting for the rear?

Cheers

Gav 08-22-2006 05:43 AM

A really good freind of mine spends about 15-17k a month with a local tyre mob.
So the discount I got on the 275's for the back, makes them worthy of being sat around in the shed for 12 months then torn apart in the cars first week on the road!!!
They are falkens, they look like a nice tyre too actually.

Lookin fat Gav, very tough sitting that low.

Very cool indeed......

Leeroy 08-22-2006 02:30 PM

Gav
starting to look very nice, those wheels are a great choice and will look very unique when finished. Congrats on your progress.

What are the centres used with the rims.

Gav 08-22-2006 07:58 PM

Leeroy,
They are American Racing Wheels 'Salt Flats' in 17x8 in front and 17x9.5 in rear.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Hi Gavin,
Plums and everyone else is right, the car sits very tough. Have you got a few bags of cement in the boot and engine bay?

Regards.

Aussie Mike 08-23-2006 12:05 AM

The Tuff ride height might have more to do with the bone shaker shocks he's running

Luv the BLUE skiboat.

Good Choice

Love the wheels, excellent choice.

I love the look of the bodies without the lights, I wonder if anyone has "frenched" the headlights, I think they would give the car a totally different look.

Phil

careful Phil

...I saw elsewhere on the site where someone mentioned the French and all sorts of abuse was hurled...

That ride's lookin' real nice Gav - once you fire it up the bug will bite so hard that little car will consume the remaining 10% of your free thought.

Keep up the good work and bold choices - they're workin for you :)

Frenching

Phil,
Bite your tongue, once you start f***ing with the body shape you don't have a Cobra anymore but some bastardised thing to drive around in.
I didn't agree with Ernie to begin with but I am seeing his point now.
To know what I'm talking about read this thread http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/showthread.php?t=72130
Cheers,
Bryan

If I am going to spend thousands of hours and dollars on building a car, I will build it how I want, and do not care if it is original or not.

I love the original type cars too, but that is not for me.

I do not like Cobra's with "shopping lists" on the side of the car, but I do not have a go at someone just because they do......

Gav 08-23-2006 05:41 PM

Unfortunatly the boat doesn't belong to the dark side.
It has a 4v 351 Cleavland a just a little cam. It'll pull to guys out on slalom from a deep start though.
I'll find some pics or take some and post them one day.
