Eerily Quiet
It's eerily quiet here today with all the guys off to Goulburn.
I imagine there's ear to ear grins right now with the guys on the track.
Sure would be good if the track had a web cam and were streaming the days action.
I'll be going up in the morning, caaaaan't wait

Just got back. Very good fun.
It was certainly not quite at the track, and some huge grins

Nice car...
But I think the race number should be reversed.

Hey - thats my number (actually I dont think I could do it)...another shot.
Biggest dissapointment so far Was the fella (Simms?) who was doing 1:05's on the practice day and eating up the GT-40s - stripped 3rd gear on his last practice lap. He was great to watch. Everyone seems to be going faster this year though - obviously some dollars spent in the last 12 months.

I think it may be registered as there is a rego sticker top left on the windscreen.
Cheers,

Les, I think he has about 600 horsies at the wheels, and he was driving the bejesus out of it. I dont know any more details but Im sure a lot of the other fellas do. Great day today - lots of action on the track.

I heard that the guy is a pilot, and flew in from Singapore for the event. No expense spared car. Evidently had a $5000 clutch!
Stef's Robnel was probably the most popular car this year. It has been registered for 18 years, and has been in GT Sports cars for the last year getting a full rebuild and big block conversion.

Yep, Gary Sims, works in Singapore, has a townhouse down the road from me. Smart man, wants to retire to Gold Coast and go racing every weekend with the QLD boys...what a way to go.
Would have loved to see Gary Sims match it with my brother again this year. My brother reckons he can go faster on that track with a better set of tyres and a good clutch.
Rumour has it Gary spent an insane amount on that Robnell and I certainly believe it. Don't be fooled into thinking you need big dollars and big HP to do well at the nationals. My brother has more HP this year, but it's still modest(330rwhp)but would still have one of the cheapest Cobra's at that event. He works bloody hard getting most out of what he has, it all comes down to lots of practice, reading, research, tuning and listening to right advice.
Stef's Robnell was certainly popular, I had to fight my way to the front just to get a photo.

Les, I believe Gary's Robnell is a 408 windsor. The 'box he tore out third gear is a TKO and will be fitting a T6000? Definatly no expense spared, as was also for his last Robnell, a 429.
