Default And yet more progress pics!

I have been a bit busy getting houses ready to sell but between times I have managed to get a couple of bits and peices done.
I caught up with Mando and Phil C the other week (Phil the tooth brushes are great!) and so as I promised here are a couple of pics of my sway bar mount, it is just a Pedders universal fit rod end with a bit of a kick in it, I would think it will be more than strong enough.

I have finished my side pipes and are now attacking the loom. I have set a target for having the car unregistered but running for the Shelby Fest, I know I will regret making that statment.
Also my spinners arrived for my wheels, If anyone is even thinking about wheels similar to mine or Boyd's talk to Tony at AJ Wheels, you would not find a nicer bloke to deal with.

Lastly I felt a bit bored so I set up my bonnet and scoop with stainless fasteners to replicate the rivets used on the oridgonals, I hope to have the car started over the next week or two so I will see how well I built the pipes!

Gav, progress is looking great! rivets are worth every minute you put into it, they look great in the end. Your pipes are looking great as well. Getting there though! The finishline that is. Keep up the great work!

mmmm .... go karts

I love the goKart shots - says it all about why these cars are great

I didn't think much of those salt flat wheels when I saw them (at AJs) but seeing them on the car is very different.

Rivets look cool too - thinking about the same thing - maybe after paint

Another ShelbyFest debut - great stuff - are you sticking with the ultramacho suspension combo?

Keep up the good work and see you at Winton

Gav

Great pics. Many thanks for that. Lots of tips there for me. It is looking great.

On the toothbrushes - the problem now is, like an automatic transmission or business class, it is hard to go back!

Plums, I have just used flat black case paint to coat them until they are completly finished. The pipes into the exhuast flanges and connecting flanges are at present only tacked so if the body presents somthing unforseen they can be adjusted. I will have them ceramic coated later on.

LoBelly, I chose the wheels becuase I wanted somthing different while still keeping the style relative to a Cobra (289 FIA'shad the five slot wheels) There are a number of Daytonas with them and it was love at first sight. Fortunatly the positive offset of the CR's lends itself to the style of the wheels.
The rivets are SHC screws and I thought it would be easier to fix any stuff ups with their placement before paint rather than after!
The suspension may well wind up softer in the future but for now I like the economic benefits of the 25 x 25 RHS!

Phil C, As you can see I have not been able to give up an auto trans

Looking Good Gav,
Do you recon the motor in that boat might accidently find its way into the cobra?

Great progress Gav, Really starting to look like a complete car. You've got nearly all the major components sorted.

I notice the nice red leather seat in the background. Is it HSV Holden? Have you put it the car to see how it'll fit?

Cheers

Mike you can't actually see the swivel base but as Steve from 'blues clues' would call it that is my thinking chair!!
A friend of mine builds the proto type seats for F--d and Holden and that one was going to the tip until she saved it, alot of important decisions about what to have for lunch and stuff gets sorted in that chair!!
And no it doesn't fit nor does a Clubsport seat or Senator seat or GT seats or......
