Yep, thumbs up Pete! I second a big back slap thanks to Scotty for organising the gig! For a guy who is one of THE biggest "racers" in the club its great to see him energise some "waxer" cred! I think he really liked helping me polish my car on the infiled at the NATS....
It was supported well, but I have no doubt next year will be BIGGER!
SpookyPT.
P.S. See you all at the breaky... I'm learning a crash course in multiple TB tuning so I may be running or not running on Sunday!

Not a problem Craig. Pics are to be shared
Little disappointed in my scores. Pretty low for the paint considering you can see your reflection in the finish. Expected a low score on the trim as it is hardly traditional.
Ah well, the beer was good afterwards

Yep, beer is always good. Just kicking myself I had to work, would have loved to have been there.
I certainly thought your scores were low as well, but with shows it always comes down to luck and personal preference. What appeals to one judge, may not appeal to another. On a different day, you could have done much better. But you already know all this.
Anyway, haven't you got enough trophies yet. You've certainly won some great shows.
Quality of judges Scott found was impressive. I would really love for this to get bigger and better each year. Our club needs a dedicated Show & Shine, to balance all the racing and other events.
Thanks for the photos.
Looking forward to the club xmas party this weekend. 40 rooms booked and 77 people attending, a record attendance.

And who in the Club is on their own looking for someone to share their bed i.e. 40 rooms and 77 bodies
Will see you there.
I am hopefully teeing up a similar event for the middle of the year at Whepstead Manor at Wellington Point - Great venue and hopefully it will include a beer tent!
The owner was a keen rally driver in South Africa and is an enthusiast of Cobras.
Waiting on El Presidento to give me a firm date and then I can firm up the booking.
Not sure on whether to judge the cars or just let there be a peoples choice for say a Cobra, GT40 and other.
We'll see.

Now that's a loaded question. Not everyone drives their Cobra to the xmas party, but I would expect to get around 20 cars - Cobra's & Gt40's.
I wonder why you are asking. Is it because we are invading your home turf. Are you coming?

Don't be down on yourself Pete. I looked at my paint score :-( and the reason for it being so low me thinks was because I "tried" to buff it the night before! A BAD Idea.....I have since learnt that I can make any nice paint look cloudy and dull if anyone needs this to be done?? In fact it was so bad that I got my mate to come down on Sunday night and fix it for me.....
I just have to do something about my wheels and next time I'm taking the front off! Need to do something to beat Mr Hancock! He's a gun!

Matt,
I think the Paint score includes more than just the paint i.e. door / boot / bonnet alignment, which I know mine is not perfect.
However, having had a $10,000 paint job it is strange that the score was relatively low.
As Craig said - it depends upon the Judge and what he prefers.
No doubt Scotty can shed some light.
Good to see such a coring system as you now have an idea on what to do to win such events like:
Spend $20,000 on the paint;
Strip the cockpit and install plenty of wood and shiny bits;
Replace the engine and install even more shiny bits
All for a $20 trophy - bargain

Pete, don't be too devo'd. I went all teh way down to the Nats and came away from th event with not a single trophy...BUT...the smile from fanging around the race track sure outweighed any other dissappointments. I learnt you never take to much away from a subjective competition. Having said that I endorse the winners whole heartedly and think them to be totoally worthy of their winnings... (ooops I know that includes me but you know what I'm trying to say there)
It was GREAT to see the judges that turned up. All of whom no their respective stuff with cars.. Been around a looong time....
I think it was a great event and certainly with the scoring system Scotty used it gives us all areas where potentially we can improve... I need to learn to buff better!!!!
