Default DRB Tail lights / indicators

Hi all,

I currently have the DRB recommended Land Rover tail lights and indicators but am not overly happy with the appearance. I am looking at changing to the original Lucas style light L692 which has a diameter of 3 1/4" .

The mounting area on the DRB's is just under the required 3 1/4" .

I assume there are plently of you out there using these lights, any problems fitting them to the DRB ? Do they mount and look OK ?

Cheers,
Dan

Actually on our DRB we stuck with the cheap Landrover lights and fitted them with stainless bezel from Snake Bite around the rubber base. Makes them look a lot better. Landrover lights with stainless bezel would be the most popular fitment to DRB's up here...by far actually.

Yep, thats the look I'm after, wasn't aware they were available. I'll get hold of Don @ Snakebite.

Thanks for the suggestion,

Dan

Default Snake Bite?

Out of interest, what are the contact details (website?) for Snake Bite?

Cheers,
Mark

I'm in Newlands. I paid my deposit to the guys at Graham Berry about a month or so back, and am now in the 'accumulation' phase i.e. getting all the bits and pieces - including an engine. The cost of bringing it all from the US is going to kill me!

PS. thanks for the Snake Bite link. It looks like Don might be getting ready to go online: www.snakebite.com.au/

Hi Bert,

I bought this magazine back in 1985 and it was my introducton to the Cobra. It was the article on Graham Berry and Almac cars that fired my interest in Cobras . Now some 20 odd years later I'm finally building my own Cobra.

The rest of the article is in my gallery.

Cheers

Thanks Mike - great article.

GBR's still going strong, though things have changed a lot since they started. Graham's no longer there and the chassis componentry's now nearly all made in-house.

My chassis will be ready mid-07. The wait's barely bearable, but at least it gives me the chance to spread the cost out a bit.

Cheers,
Mark

Interesting Evilbert.

What components does the kit use? Any rough pricing?

Cheers,

Ben

Ben,

The Graham Berry racing (chassis and assembly) and ALMAC (body) websites have pretty comprehensive price lists. Roughly, gelcoat glass body and rolling chassis (incl QA1 coilovers, 4 piston Wilwoods, 9" rear) totals about $NZ30k. The other bits and pieces are sourced from various places, and come to about $NZ20k. This excludes upholstery, paint, and engine & trans. All up, including a 351W turnkey from the US and a new TKO600, I figure I'll be pushing close to $NZ80k.

Cheers,
Mark
