Default Slowy's progress pics

Posting some more progress pics. Car was away Xmas getting exhaust fitted so not much progress till now.

Pics below show the remodelled extractors and the bulk of the system beneath. The mufflers are nestled beside the fuel tank just behind the rear wheel arches to maximise clearance. The GF fuel tank has cutaway sides to allow an angled muffler to fit in!

Funny how you read posts and think it can't be THAT hard can it? Well all those posts about fitting wipers are right, what a royal pain in the butt.

Problems started with the 115 degree wiper gear, well the usual pin removal has fixed that. Made it adjustable to get the right sweep and I think I readjusted and refitted the wiper motor some 5 times before I got it right.

However I had started off fitting two wheel boxes to suit 115 and this has made life a bit harder once I reduced the sweep.

Getting good screen coverage, avoiding wiper run off and having the wipers park nicely at the bottom of the screen has been a challenge, and I know I've managed at least one out of three and we'll see what the engineer says about coverage later.

Found my middle wiper just clips the screen rubber at the top but I reckon some fine knife work will remove the small (5-10mm) offending piece of wiper blade and all will be sweet.

Anyway with this done I can get back to the fuel system I had to remove to allow the exhaust to be fitted, the old 3 steps forward 2 back, but at least there is movement.

Enjoy

Its great to see updates Slowy

Another couple of ticks in boxes, they come quicker as you get through the build until you're standing there one day trying to remember what's next ???

(Answer: - get in and drive )

Thanks your posting your pics Slowy!

From experience I think your made the right choice going to the exhaust shop. Nice cross over system too. Should sound and perform sweetly.

Thanks guys for the comments.

Flukeyluke

I've got to be VIN'd bythe end of this year as I'm running the 220 AU2 engine unlike your T - but hey you've got a great donor car for your cobra build!!!

L'belly - Michael have taken one step back with the fuel system but I think you're right it does seem to move faster the closer you get BUT i've just got my box of wires in the post from Tenrocca so that's going to be a v slow part, I'm no auto elec. but we will see.

Al

Thanks, I did take heed of your advice. The fellow's price wasn't bad given he used my old AU cats and I had those extractors I bought off Wayne from Qld out of snaketales. Parts of the extractors had to be remodelled but am happy with this work though there are some rough welds elsewhere. However if it leaks it just goes back to be fixed presto!

Cheers
