Black thingy on the fuel filler neck ???

For those with a CR what the hell is that 1/2 round back thingy on the filler neck for.
Im guessing its a carbon filter of sorts.
Does anyone have a drawing of how to plum it up

I got a fax from GM which gives the correct layout. I redrew it as fax was hard to read but I have plumbed mine this way and all is fine. I will fax you a word doc. for the correct layout.

Hi Slow 427,
Not sure what the black thing is but its something to do with the pollution control equipment.

In terms of plumbing, there are two small tubes (4 or 5mm) which need to go from the top of black thing to two of the nipples on the top of the fuel neck and two tubes go from the bottom of the black thing to the two nipples on the top of the fuel tank.

At the top of the fuel neck is also a third nipple for the connection to the charcoal canister.

Does this make sense?? I can probably sketch something up if it isn't.

Thanks Luke I see you have PBR brakes are they aluminium ?
And will they fit in 15 " wheels

Yes they are Aluminium and they just fit inside my 15" slave wheels with millimeters to spare! My plan is to eventually run 17" wheels.




I got the whole brake upgrade kit from Hoppers Stoppers, which included the new slotted rotors, new hubs (with Ford stud pattern), calipers, brackets, braided hoses etc. From memory the total price was about $1400. I'm sure if you shopped around on e-bay etc. you get get this price down.

Hi Paul,

I think it's a kind of valve to allow vapour to pass but not liquid. In the case of a roll over it stops the liquid fuel from draining into the carbon canister.
