Default Can anyone help this guy?...Jag IRS Parts

Hi guys,

As the club pres., I often receive e-mails asking for help with their projects, and today received the following letter from a fellow who's restoring a Triden.

Check this out..

Is there anyone out there that can give this fellow a helping hand...
It's one of the MANY things that I know little about.

Many Thanks,

Warren.

Dear Warren,
Hi my name is Bernie Ruddy and I was hopefully wondering if yourself or your members could possibly assist me in information or assistance in attaining parts for the jaguar IRS diff. As I have discovered a large number of your members would have installed and modified these units for your projects, i thought that your club would be the right people to contact.
My project and restoration is not a Cobra as such but an early Australian fiberglass car made in South Australia in the early 1960's known as a Triden which has a very similar body style of the cobra and racing type cars of that era.
I'm running the period engine and gearbox of the time my vehicle was assembled, which was TR4a based, fitted with the period Judson supercharger. I'm upgrading the IRS rear with series one jaguar as they are stronger and more reliable than the present unit.
As you would realize I require a diff ratio of anything between 3.7 to 4.1 to suit the 4 cylinder power and torque outputs. As I realize your cars run V8's they require taller ratios. The unit I have is stamped 3.058 and is to high for my vehicle. Is there anyone that could advise me to where I could exchange or buy a centre to suit or information on where or how to get this change done.
I also would like to know a company that has experience in shortening these axles and wishbone to suit my wheel base.
I know I'm asking a lot, but I would appreciate any assistance your club could offer.
Thank you for your time
Best Regards
Bernie Ruddy.
