A Favour from tthe QLDers
This Sunday (April 1st) is the monthly breakfast at Sanctuary Cove, and though I would love to be there I can not! However a new member to our Forum and a relative neighbour of mine (Townsville) HODSON is as keen as mustard to get his first Cobra. He has become a paying member of the QLD club, has narrowed down his kit supplier to two and has organised to speak with Harrison on the Monday following the Breakfast.
All I ask from you good fellows (Rebel1, Spook, Pcc, 400TT, OZVENOM & anyone else I have forgotten) is to show the big guy around. Our club President Warren said he would look out for our new friend and introduce him to the local crew.
I wish I had know about the monthly breakfast when I was looking for a Cobra as it would have made my decision so much easier.
P.s> Rebel1 don't eat his breakfast while he is taking photos of the Cobras out front.

Tell him to order, orange juice, scrambled eggs & sausage, with a coffee and I'll make sure the waitress wont take it when he's gone.

Thanks guys, its much appreciated to feel welcome, the president has already made me feel welcome to the club and you guys just top it off. I will be the short, fat balding old guy with the young son & daughter there. They are just along to check out their inheritance (not that I intend to kick the bucket for 20 - 30 years yet) and they haven't thought about the fight they will get from the wife with the lawyer brother and the second daughter.
Rebel, I am staying at Labrador and the real reason for the son & daughter is for the lift from the airport to the breakfast and Harrisons on monday and back to the airport (kids are actually useful sometimes).
Thought of the day, don't stand between a man and his cobra, equally don't stand between a man and his breakfast after salivating over all the cobra's at the breakfast.
Thanks again guys
Hodson (colin)

Welcome hodson, anyone from Townsville is ok with me, especially if they, like me, are spending the kids inheritance.
Besides that, Townsville is my second favourite place having lived there between 1970 to 1978.
Be good to meet you on the weekend.

Hi Les,
Don't mean to hijack the thread but I am from Townsville originally and left in 75. Were you there during cyclone Althea at Xmas 1970.We lived in North Ward at the time.
Sorry to butt in guys!
Cheers

Yep, I sure was there Brett. Lived in China Street Mundingburra.
Managed a place in South Townsville.
Had an Army officer friend lived near the rock pool in North Ward.
Did a lot of sailing with the cruising yacht club.
Drank too much.
Ohhhhh the memories

She's not Spooky's girlfriend, she's the CLUB"S Girlfriend...in Queensland we share everything, and what's Spooky's is ours.(Wish ) and she's way too cute for him.
Anyway...she was looking at me first...I felt so violated!!

Royalty ?? ....Hardly......Those who know me well , can certainly vouch for my very "riff-raffy" pedigree.
I've only recently started reading the forum...I Know I'm slack....and I really enjoy the banter.
Also it seems I should have been reading more often, as I found a few old threads with a few digs that I would have enjoyed replying to.
I'll get into the habit of writing a few comments, and see how it goes.
Warren.

You do run arguably the most friendly, progressive, & best organised cobra club in Oz.
That should increase my brownie points
