Default E-marked stop/tail/indicator lamps

I'm researching the rear tail/indicator lamps as well as front indicators and originally went for the Lucas L691 all round - 2x red, 4x amber. Cheapest I could find was $69 a piece. Then someone put me onto the Land Rover supplied Lucas lamps which I think is the E75, E77 and E79 models for about $11 ea - big difference!

Sticking with E-marked lenses, can someone please tell me which way to go? I want the "authentic" look where possible but price is always a consideration. This is for VIC registration if that makes a difference.

Thanks

Sambo,

Finishline in the US is a much cheaper option for a lot of this stuff. If you keep the order under $200 US, you won't get charged any duty or other customs charges.

The link is here -> http://finishlineaccessories.com/catalog/

Pics in my gallery of them fitted.

From memory the lights were about $45 each. Not quite $11, but not $69 either.. m

Guys, are any of these lenses E-marked? Not sure which lenses are being discussed as that link pointed to the general catalogue, not a specific product!

Can you do any better than $44 for each of those bullet mirrors? They're on eBay for that much.

Sambo the lenses from Finishline are E marked, and if you navigate the left hand menu bar and go to lights it shows the lights in detail.

Yeah I found all the lights but are you referring to the L692 or the L539?

Thanks

The Landrover lights are smaller in diameter than the lucas and the bases are black plastic. You can get shiny bezels to fix this but adds to the cost, so your lights aren't 11 bucks any more.

Everything about the Cobra is OVERSIZED, so I wouldn't put teeny lights on.

sambo i think the mirrors on ebay might be chrome plated which will rust later ,i bought a set of tex classic mirrors in polished stainless steel from ebay for $99 the pair also before i saw these items i bought the chrome ones , so if you are looking for a set of chrome i have set going cheap with all mounting pieces otherwise keep an eye on ebay

Highly recommend finishline for this stuff - buy a decent amount to make your shipping it worth while. If the amount is actually under $1000 AUD then they wont bother collecting duty\GST. Used to be $500 but they raised it a few months ago. Cant vouch for their bullet mirrors but I can recommend the tex ones for quality - I ended up going for raydyot instead though. From finishline not genuine but a decenbt replica (tiny though!)

Cheers

Getting smoother everyday :P Just been doing bodywork and stirring up the locals about colour choice at present . Hopefully pull the body off for the last time in a few weeks and start on the underbody. Back on for the last time in July - Engine and all plumbing in August, wiring done in September, painting in October, interior in November and ready for engineering by xmas (tell him hes dreamin son )

Dont think Ill be going to Winton, Im sure I could bum a lift with someone, but its a pretty busy time of year so Im better off accumuating a few brownie points then dissapearing for a weekend.

sounds like you have a plan, hope it all goes well for you it will be good to have someone local to confere with during the build process, keep up earning those brownie points as we all know you can NEVER have enough of those, especially with the current build, which colours are you tossing up over,im more leaning towards a pearl white of some sort with blue stripes, anyhow goodluck

My favoured scheme has been taken a couple of times now so Im very unsure at the moment - Tossing up all sorts of combinations. Its hard to find something that has universal appeal that hasnt been done a thousand times over.

Ben - Daryl lives out my way - waiting delivery of his drb kit.

Back the original question (sorry for taking it off topic), but the lights I got from finishline were all E-marked.

Cheers.

Stafford vehicle components in the UK are also very good for lights, wipers switches, mirrors etc. I have used them before and have had no problems .
