Default Progress Update....

hi All - been working on my boot and getting the roll bar in. I purchased a roll bar from Don Pilling (Snakebite). Beautifully made. If Anyone else gets one from him for a CR though I would get him to make the inside leg a little longer. As is it only comes through the rear cowl about 50mm (setting it a 300mm height from bottom of hoop to top of cowl). I had to move the inside mount anyway so no big deal to set it higher. But I would prefer more "overlap" at the joint.

Cutting the holes for the 3rd leg was fun - especiialy where it goes through the hole in the boot. Lets just say that one ended up a bit bigger then needed. Im lining the boot in Alum anyway though. I also beefed up the roll bar \seat belt braket a bit with some flat bar - I am going to fit a plate of alum to the back of the bracket as well so you wont see my crapping welding. You can also see the battery box Shaun Mellish made up for me. Polished to the level where I said, "stuff this I think Ill pay someone to do it properly"

Also I had bezels from Finishline. The 3rd leg on Dons bar isnt as as much as an angle as the oval bezel is built for, so order 3 round ones if you get dons bar and bezels from finishline. I will use the oval bezel in the boot (as the floor slopes creating more of an angle) and order another round bezel from finishline for the 3rd leg.

Cheers,
Andrew
