Right, but he didn't take their offer. So that's all that matters.
The thing is, it would be fine to put a Chebby engine in a Cobra, but the first time someone bought a Cheetah replica and put a Ford engine in it, there would be riots all across the US.
It's the owner's car...they can do whatever they want. But I go to a lot of car shows and the number of cars with 350's and 350 Turbo transmissions just makes me puke. There is no originality with Chevy stuff and it's like the GM guys can't have any imagination. The only thing they know to do is go pull a 350 out of the junkyard, put a set of chrome valve covers on it and stick it in a car.
I understand that Chevy parts are cheap and there are millions of them, but that only adds to the sheer boredom.
I also understand that it's harder to obtain legal licensed Ford drivetrains in Aussie Land, so that's a different scenario. If you want a Cobra bad enough, you can only work with what you have available to you.
