Default Rims / tyres for sale?

As a precursor to an expected rejection of my underated rear tyres, I might as well ask if anyone has rims and / or tyres they are looking to sell.

Can't you just borrow a set of wheels/tyres off someone that are legal??? You could give them your set to keep them going while you're using theirs for rego....

T is the highest rating I've seen for any 15" tyres in sizes that suit a Cobra. Yeah, there are Z rated 15" tyres, but not in any sizes that really interest us.

S is the most common rating in 15" tyres unfortunately.

With Jag front, I'm trying to sqeeze in some 310mm Ford Rotors with either 2 piston PBR calipers or 4 piston Nissan calipers.

I'm also using aftermarket hubs that push offset inwards 22mm each side.

All this work just to keep 15" Halbrand wheels.

Well funny story, I just remembered I will actually have set of wheels/tyres for sale in about a month. So if anyone wants a nice set of 15" wheels and in no hurry. Drop me a PM with your email and I'll send you some photos.

They are 5 stud 15x7 & 15x8 Dragway Cobra wheels, perfect for that baggy tyre look. Come with Halibrand Spinners & fake knock-off centre. Jag stud pattern, off an RMC, so offsets will suit all Jag based cars except the CR & DRB.

They have BF Goodrich T/A's fitted, 245(brand new) & 265. Happy to sell rims without tyres.

I'll let you know how I go with the brakes. The 2 piston PBR calipers might just be a little too large(high) on a 310mm rotor to fit under the 15" rims. 4 piston calipers make it a lot easier, they are not as high above the rotor, but they stick out further in the front. There are also some great wide-eared Wilwood calipers that will fit nicely and are easy to adapt. Just haven't quite got it all sorted yet and weigh up the pros & cons of the different caliper choices.

I'm also chasing smaller caliper piston capacity on the front to get brake balance right. I currently have Jag 4 piston and they are way too large in piston capacity for my current setup. PBR calipers are better, but not small enough. Skyline is very close, but a touch on the small side with 310mm rotor, they would suit around 290mm rotor perfectly. I can dial the Wilwoods in perfectly for 310mm rotor, so that sways the argument towards Wilwood. Thought I might as well kill two birds with the one stone.

Pin Drive. 4" Backspace, biggest backspace you can do with 1 piece cast wheels as used on the original cars. That's why I've gone 310mm rotor on the front, allows me to push the hubs on the front in by 22mm each side. Will also have to tweak the rear, by a much bigger margin and make some mods to chassis that encroaches into the top of rear wheel arch area to fit in 295 rear tyres. 295 tyres are need to get the correct baggy look on 9.5" rear pin drives. Using 245's on the front.

The pin drives do fit without mods, especially if you run slightly narrower tyres, but stick out in the guards, which is a look I don't like. A few people have fitted them without mods. I want the wheels to sit right under the guards as they did on the originals.

Amazing the differences in the bodies. Robnell runs equivalent track front & rear and you can easily fit 3.6" backspace wheels on both ends.

These came with the car originally - chance they will fit your G-Force

4.75 PCD is used by most of the early Holdens (HQ, HX etc.) and is actually 120.65mm. Jaguar is this same pattern.
Commodore is 120mm. You can use either for either, but bear in mind that they are slightly different and will load your studs. This said, most of the Commodore drag racers use Weld Racing wheels which are 4.75 PCD and they don't seem to have any problems.

The 4.75PCD rims will work fine on a Commodore hub. HQ have imperial studs and Commodores have 12mm metric studs. The Jag hubs have a 74mm hub center where Commodores have a 71mm hub center so Commodore rims will NOT fit a Jag hub. Ford run 4.5 PCD hubs, so I ended up with two differnt patterns front to rear, having 10 inch rears means I have differnt rims anyway but means a pain for which spare to carry!
