Talking Started....ehem....testing today - yahoo

Got my permit to play Friday to start Sunday, well test anyway, and made some use of it today despite the intermittent rain, and the family gathering for GrandMa's 80th - she loved her ride in the car too!!

A few pics to keep you lot happy, well those of us unable to make the Nats.

Need a few things engineered and then it's off to Enklemans!

Did manage to overcook it at the start of a local freeway on ramp in the rain - the short 180 was fairly spectacular! Thankfully grassy verges and the car behind had stayed well back too.

Enjoy

Thanks Guys

Yes good track training and I've always pressed car performance to know what my car would do, usually at times and locations least likely to bite. Have to admit though, this one was a little quick, perhaps not unexpected, but none the less quite rapid. Did that one with the missus one board too! She just laughed thank God!

Side view mirror was a test for both usability - none and location - not bad. The amount of grey tape I used there wouldn't have let go in a fit, so it looked ugly but now I don't have any ill positioned holes in the body work!

These were only cheapies I got out of ebay for a trial seems they'll now go back on ebay too!

However I know the bullet mirrors are limited by the rear wheel tubs and I'd prefer the body mounted style than say raydots off the windscreen.

What's the feedback like on the lenghtened neck version bullets, like say the Talbots Don has in Snakebite?

Anyone have any other suggestions on side view mirrors?

Cheerio

Lookin good!

Perry,

Those seats are popular because they are skinny and legal - it is harder for us to get our cars legal down here!

Perry

Those MX5 seats are pretty small as standard but I've narrowed them a further 50mm to improve seating position in the car. Still very comfy and perhaps a bit more grippier due to the narrowed profile - for a standard seat!

I also now know I have to modify my pedal set up, well at least the throttle as they are well inboard from the firewall, and you have to bend the right knee to get any comfort. And that's as standard pedal box sourced from GForce!

But can anyone shed further light on good bullet mirrors?

Cheers from the ...eh....tester!

Default Having fun

HI Slowly,
I am sure you are having a ball with the "testing"

All looking great.

In my experience the bullet mirrors are pretty useless, I have seen some with taller bases that may be better. If you are looking for mirrors that are functional look at the ones mounted on the side of the windscreen. I have used the 40 style swan neck or peep mirrors mounted and the screen, the vision is perfect. There are also some Traditional types available, seams this problem has been arround since the 60s.

Phil

Just looking at your gallery I can see how yours would be functional, do the screen mounted raydots achieve the same sort of fuctionality? I'd at least prefer that traditional look of a bullet mirror.

Cheers
