Cobra weight

Thanks for posting that link patrickt, it's very interesting that all of the cars were tail heavy.

Phil, I believe that an LS1 weighs around 180kg, that's complete. You are right, those "little things" sure do add up, I don't have any of those. How much weight does your ANDRA cage add, or is it offset by the lightweight door skins?

I was actually dissappointed with the weight of my car, I was hoping for very low 1100's. I know where there is lots of weight to be saved, it's just a matter of getting around to doing it, (which I probably never will)....

Plums,
The cage actually reduces weight as the cobination of doors seat etc is actually 30kgs lighter than road version.

I am suprised with the weight of your car, expecially as it has no assecories, ie bumpers, wind wings etc etc.

I think some of the weight is in the fiberglass, i am not sure how they are made, could you get a "thick" one that would add kgs to the car????

Mine's pretty basic. No heater or carpet or power steering. I think I saved a fair bit of weight not having a windscreen or wipers. The under body system is heavier than the side pipes and headers though.

I figure it'll weigh about 1100 or so with a windscreen and carpet installed
