Default Nice Robnell on the market!

There's a nice big block Robnell in QLD for sale if anyone is interested.

Not a bad price considering the extra options on it!

On Robnell's I quite like their factory matching air cleaner & rocker covers, makes for a very neat engine bay. But boy I have never liked that optional factory roll bar(the huge rubber grommets are found on all factory rollbars), that factory interior has never impressed me and it isn't getting any better with age, combined with the strange looking side pipes and non-authentic looking knock-off's(PS Engineering), I think it will not impress the average Robnell buyer...I expect these guys tend to like originality. But boy is there potential in bucket fulls.

It's nicely spec'd, but it's showing it's age inside and out. But if it was in better condition it would be worth much more in my opinion.

Yeah, the price isn't bad considering there would be a slight premium for the big block. And that IRS 9" rear. And those brakes... I had better stop drooling.

Stef, if only they were all like yours. All Robnell's deserve the Stef treatment. I can only imagine how much yours is worth now.

I would love to have a Robnell, but finding one in my price range won't happen anytime soon...if ever. I don't think they quite managed 100 cars did they.

By the time you'd tidied the Robnell up, you could have bought a brand new Superformance and have some spare change.

It's hard to argue with that sort of logic.

Richard, is Colin giving you a commission on Superformance sales? Just kidding.

Robnell's - value for your buck????????????

Nope - Sorry.

$95,000 is well on the way to a Stand Out Daytona - Hmmmm Robnell or Daytona.

How many Superformance cars have a legal fuel injected big block?

Good point Beejay, but I think there will be a few SPF's soon with 427 LS7's..... Granted it's not a Ford motor but I wouldn't care.

Aren't Superformance around 160K? Beautiful cars no doubt but under 100K for a big block Robnell with all the goodies is still a good price I think.

Craig, your comments on my car always blow me away, always appreciate them, next time we catch up you should take it for a spin!

Slight change of subject I know but I wanted to upload a pic but was told I have no more disc space left! how do you delete some pics in order to free up some space?

I believe that an SPF turn-key minus roller is around $70k. You could get one on the road with a GM 6 litre for around $90k, or with a 427 LS7 for possibly under $100k (if you shop hard)....

And that's where the value is.

Robnell have a nice shape, my favourite shape actually, nice mechanically and the name has a good reputation and premium price tag associated. There will always be Cobra buyers looking for original styled vehicles.

Bang for buck, well of course it's not there...but it never is when you are shopping near the top.

Default I wish

Not yet, Craig .
My point was that the car in question is a pretty tired looking specimen and you could get a brand new one with, as Plums says, an LS2 or LS7, for similar money. And if the thought of a GM motor doesn't light your candles, stick a quad cam in it
Nevertheless, I think it might sell at that price. It is a big block (but not a 427).
Richard
I don't know what SPF Cobra rollers are going for now, but SPF GT40's and Daytona rollers are around $AUD105K

If I had that much money I would be buying an optioned right hand drive Kirkham, stainless chassis, alloy body, and have enough money left for and engine and drive train....

Maybe thats the next one?????

Default We wish!

Hogster, if the Kirkham was doable, I would have already done it! Crap rego laws and ADR prevent us from this "DREAM". Check out the Hi Tech on the for sale section, now that's a bargain! If I didn't have my car I would instantly purchase that Hi Tech and import it as a racer, at that price who cares if you can't register it?

I saw it parked in the street at this years Speed on Tweed. Nice car. Not for me but nice car! If you take it for a test drive make sure the knock ons have the safety wires attached. They didn't when I saw it so just take care!

FYI Kirkham fans,

RMC have announced that they are now the Australian agents for Kirkham. They are shipping 2 cars into Australia, both with SS chassis and are planning to get them thorough the ADR's.

Once the compliance precedent has been set, it will be interesting to see what the difference in price is between OZ and the US.

I hope it is,

Sounds good Ross, keep us up-to-date with developments if you can.

I certainly hope RMC are also waving a magic wand and performing some magic so we can get back some realistic emmissions levels like 00/37 and have a few more engine choices.

My attitude as certainly changed, built 2 x Cobras new, these days I'm only looking 2nd hand, both my GT40 & Cobra were bought 2nd hand, it's the only way I know to beat emissions and have the engines I want.
