RCR Australian agent

Oi uncle Craig, Wot's this I read in another thread?.

You are the purveyor of all things RCR in Oz. :)

Tell us more....don't worry about the non cobra related stuff.....c'mon, fess up.

400TT 02-17-2008 05:19 AM

Background: I've been investigating overseas kits for some time and finally found a manufacturer with products, support & a working relationship that I think will work well for customers here.

So looking forward I'm now bringing in the Race Car Replica(RCR) products into Australia. RCR specialise in both replica and exotic vehicles that are of mid-engine design.

I will be providing customers with compliance information, required testing results and ongoing support all the way to registration.

For full details see this thread on GT40s.com: Announcing: RCR Australian Distributor - GT40s.com

The RCR products tick all the right boxes in my books with their authentic body shapes and the best engineering under the skin. Things like Aluminimum Monocoque Chassis, CNC Billet Suspension, wide range of engine & transaxle combinations, comprehensive kits & detailed build manuals.

RCR Web Site: Race-Car-Replicas - 586-329-1573

It's certainly an exciting time.

Happy to answer any questions both publicly and privately so please don't hesitate to post them.

Any questions Les? :)

Rebel1 02-17-2008 05:33 AM

Bout blu$$y time this range of well engineered cars found their way to Aussie shores.

Now...wots this classic evolution thing?. Isn't that a fashion label? ;)

When you say the the RCR products...do you mean the full range of models?

Les

400TT 02-17-2008 05:53 AM

Yes, the full range of products.

In aluminium monocoque replicas we have: RCR-40 MK1/MK2/MKIV, RCR-70 Spider/Coupe, RCR-917, RCR-P4

Also have Superlight Coupe and Superlight Roadster.

I only have RCR-40's coming at the moment, but working towards some of the other replicas and the Superlight Coupe.

Busy times ahead...

Rebel1 02-17-2008 06:03 AM

Craig, I'm gonna make a bet with ya...for the cost of a brekky. ;)

Craig Marsh will have a T70 replica and Peter (PCC) will have a superlight.

Call me for my post box # when ya ready to send the commission.:LOL::LOL::LOL:

400TT 02-17-2008 06:19 AM

Sounds like I had better grab your Post Box # now.

Don't worry I've been trying to work out how to fit an extra couple of cars in here. :D

Rebel1 02-17-2008 04:59 PM

Craig, Is it true there is a T70 RCR replica already in Queensland?.

Cheers

spookypt 02-17-2008 05:56 PM

YEP! I believe Chris Hatfield is building onE!

Common Rebel, get that cobra going!

400TT 02-17-2008 11:41 PM

Yep, Chris has an RCR T70 Spider that he is building for the track.

Looking forward to seeing it circulating soon.

Yeah, would love to do a Cobra, but I really haven't found anything that's suitable in my books. I won't go into the details here as it will end up really lengthy. Lets just say that it has to be the right car, from the right manufacturer.

Well done Craig and good luck...:3DSMILE:

Aussie Mike 02-18-2008 06:01 AM

Looks good! I've been admiring their cars for a while. What's the Aussie price on a RCR MK1 GT40 kit?

Cheers

Rebel1 02-18-2008 06:12 AM

Mike, I believe Craig mentioned the prices to be the same as those shown on the RCR site.

Thats here: Race-Car-Replicas - 586-329-1573 - RCR40 Specs

Three levels of kit.

Converted to $A plus freight & customs

Not a bad price given the quality.

Cheers

Aussie Mike 02-18-2008 06:22 AM

Very good indeed. Especially the way the $ is at the moment. I wouldn't mind one of those superlight coupes either.

Surely my little girl would be just as happy going to the local public primary shcool. :p

Cheers

Rebel1 02-18-2008 06:30 AM

Mike, have a look at this very kewl superlight on page 3 of this thread.

Superlite Roadster.... - Page 3 - GT40s.com

Nice....very nice

stephen low 02-18-2008 01:35 PM

Very different - a modern Super 7 but I prefer the bodied look alike version of the ultima. One of those would be a good second project I reckon!

sambo 02-18-2008 02:20 PM

But... they're electric! Click a few pages ahead in Les's link and you can see something like 25 batteries lined up against the firewall.

Sambo, those are the special electric versions of the Superlight Roadster. So you can please yourself, go green or go for petrol. :D

Mike/Stephen, yeah, I also really like those Superlight Coupes, very nice piece of kit indeed.

Rebel1 02-18-2008 02:48 PM

Guys, this superlight roadster is not terribly unlike the English Arial Atom seen here in this video clip.

YouTube - Gear Arial Atom

Dare I say the RCR superlight would at least match if not surpass the Atom in performance.

Powered by a 4 cylinder honda( or similar) lifted from a Jap car this thing will rip ya face off.
