Talking Aussie Mike in the UK

Hi All,

It's been a busy week for me. I was supposed to be in India this week but with my job you end up going where your needed most. I got a call last Friday saying "You've got to be in the UK on Monday". I was on a plane on Sunday and landed in at Heathrow on Monday morning. The gear I was supposed to be working on wasn't quite ready so I went for a drive to see a bit of the countryside.

I called in to Europa Spares to see what goodies they had. Great shop with a huge range of Cobra related parts.

I shouldn't have gone in there in hindsight because I walked out quite a bit poorer even though their prices were great. . I bought a Windscreen, wind wings, sun visors, a wiper motor and all related hardware. The folks at Europa spares were extremely helpful and packed the screen in bubble wrap and cardboard so hopefully it'll arrive back home in one piece. I only had a small bag with me so I'm bringing everything back in my luggage.

I figured I'll fit a windscreen and wipers to make the car a bit more useable. It'll be easy enough to pull the screen off and switch back to the aero screen for track days.

I'm a big Pink Floyd fan so Tuesday night I took a drive down to Bournemouth to see The Australian Pink Floyd. These guys are a Pink Floyd tribute band that just constantly seem to tour Europe and the US. They were absolutely astounding. I saw Pink Floyd live back in '88 and these guys put on a show to rival the originals. Absolutely fantastic! If they ever decide to come home and Tour Aus they arew a must see. The Hall where I sw them seats 7000 people and it was full to capacity.

I got all my work done so I fly back tonight. I get home on Friday so I'll be going to Motec on Saturday. I wouldn't want to miss that.

Cheers

Mike,

So can I ask what you do?

Is it like you go wherever you are needed and say "Murphy, Mike Murphy" in your finest English accent??? and then shoot the bad guys and bed all of the women???

You seem to be in India one week ,UK another, OZ then back to UK...

Give my regards to M and Q when you see them

take care

Mick

Hi Mick, Unfortnately my job isn't that glamorous. I'm a systems engineer working for a company that manufactures telecommunications equipment. A lot of my time is spent trouble shooting or setting up customer demos or tech trials of equipment etc. We're an international company so they pull resources from all over depending on where the need is.

Thanks Trevor, I would have loved to catch up with you and some ot the UK Cobra contingent. It's a shame I didn't have a little more notice on this trip or a little more time in country.

Cheers
