G'day Marty. You want feedback? About bloody time you showed yourself!
I nearly dropped into your factory on Saturday as I was in Adelaide St picking up my MX-5 seats from the Maz wreckers. I need the runners adapted to my floor and also for the XF pedals to be bent into shape. I'll be in touch soon.
How's Slowy's repair work going?

Marty,
I've seen how much work you've got on at the moment.
You shouldn't have time to post on the net.
Will catch up with you at the end of the week to check my new boot brackets.
Why not post a few photos of your current projects.
3 cobras at different build stages 1 cobra cash repair, 1 completed cobra and a gt40.
Something for everyone.

"1 cobra cash repair"
Hey Jason I'm not so sure Shannons like cash repairs??!!
Paul do drop in on a Saturday as I'll be somewhere under my car. You can have a look and see how I support my runners in a cramped cockpit, though the seats are currently at home.
Cheers

Will do Slowy. Is the G-Force subrame under the seats similar to the Harrison I wonder? I've got two rails across the floor about 200mm apart.

Paul
I'd looked in a Harrison cockpit once many years ago so don't recall the layout. The GF cockpit at the rear bulkhead has a coffin head style arrangement further limited by the floor being some 50mm below the rails making this shape.
This all works against getting a seat to sit low and makes the width of any seat used very critical in these cars.
The GF sourced seats are quite specifically designed for the space, so other seat choices can be limited, particularly if you want to use runners too. This is probably the main factor I'd rate negatively about this kit.
If you are using MX5 seats, and your cockpit is fairly flat and regular in shape, I reckon the seats will be easily fitted into your car. Perhaps I need to get to your shed and have a look!
Cheers

Just in case it helps, I also had some "issues" with the DRB not having too much room for seats.
In my search for some MX5 seats at the time, I came across some RX7 Series 6 seats.....they turned out great.
Not too many seats out there that are slim enough to fit some of the different Cobras.
Thought this might help ,
Regards,
Warren.

Any time mate. I'll be tinkering in the driveway this weekend if the weather forecast holds out.

Hey Martin, great to see you on here.
Paul, also keep in mind the later Harrisons have a wider tunnel. So in the early cars it was easy to fit in seats like MX5 etc, it might not be such an easy fit now with the later chassis.
Slowy, on of the big advantages of the G-Force is that great body shape they have. What I call the early RMC shape and we know why that is.

Wazza nice looking seats and good to hear it's not just the GF struggling for fit, however I also cut and narrowed my MX5 seats by 50mm to help with the fit.
This makes them a tad smaller to sit on and helps to hold the body movement that little bit more but achieves a very small foot print, something around 400mm width if I remember rightly.
And yes too sorry Marty for the Hi-Jack!
Cheers

Huge tracks of land........
Well judging by the size of the body in that red dress yes he ??... she ?? is er a big er bloke!!
But I think you would be surprised with the room available.
Wazza can test them out when I'm going again and we cross paths some where.
But he will have to take those heels off before he gets in the car!!
Cash repair man!

Marty good to see you on the forum.
I can highly recommend Marty's work as he has done some fabrication on my car in which most guys would have said take the body off to get access.
Very innovative engineer and worth a visit to his workshop.

Hi-Jack detour
Now back to our main program - with apologies Marty!!
But I can commend Martin's work, he does think about what the final product is going to look like, function and how you can get at it later on when the need arises - all good engineering traits in my book.
He also does fabulous work with Winnabaygo's, I hear there is a waiting list for his tender mercies on these beasties!!??! LOL::ro lleyes:
Cheers
