Sambo, Re the Murray. I don't really believe the problem has a long term solution. Leastwise the perceived problem as it stands. That being water for irrigation, recreation and for potable usage.

There seems in every argument that the "food bowl of Australia" is at risk and we'll all end up starving from lack of fruit and vegies. If these crops are so water dependent why not just relocate the "food bowl of Australia" to somewhere where there is abundant water .... Like North Queensland. Heaps of land ... doing bugga all ... and heaps of water.

Problem solved, and no $billion expenditure from the feds or states.

But right now the food bowl is nicely positioned between the 2 biggest cities in the country and "food miles" is another consideration. Plus, you rednecks would no doubt water it all down before sending to us, just like your beer.

Edit: Re subsidised water tanks, water restrictions, etc, while I agree it IS up to the states to put plans into action, public apathy isn't doing us any favours - peolpe are happy to whinge but nobody takes an interest in driving the change. There's very little pressure on our state government down here to do anything effective... the last bloke flew around in choppers all day and the current one just wants to build pyramids! So how do you get them to listen?

Oi, we don't water our beer. It is the only true quality ale worth drinking.

As to the two biggest cities and food miles. Lets say the feds elect to amortize all the save the Murray cost to every bit of fruit grown in the place. Every grape, every bottle of wine, even cob of corn etc....what would it cost?....you'd never be able to afford it.

Who cares about the two largest cities in Australia?. They are both bankrupt as are the States they exist. They (NSW and VIC) have sold all their assets, have not maintained their own infrastructure to a required level and exist simple on dwindling cash flow and are dependent on a disproportional share of federal revenue.

Frankly, I believe we are almost at a time where some very disturbing but essential decisions need to be made. We cannot continue to exist on an outdated government/social model while we move to more challenging times.

Duplicity in Government will have to stop....cant afford it....State Governments will have to go .... local councils with more responsibility.
Feds to pick up education/health/water/transport. They have picked up a huge part of the funding already.

You cant have the water rights of the Murray sold off by the state Governments on either bank and then want the rest of Australia to bail the area out. Not On !.

I've got a whole list of these ideas ... aren't you lucky I'm not the PM.

Sambo, have a look at the reduction of water use in SE Qld.

Now using on average less than half that of 2004.



Our Dams are at an average of 59% full now so we have around 10 years supply at current usage levels.

A little help is needed please, I have decided to can the 25th Anniversary Countach idea as there is just too many problems in building the cars and getting them in to Japan to sell, so I am just going to get myself a Diablo Roadster from DC Supercars in the UK

Yellow DC SuperCars Diablo Roadster

The Chassis cost about £3870.00 and the Bodykit is £5,840.00 to complete the build I have been told about £30,000 to about £45,000

I have spoken to 3 guys that have built the Diablos from DC and was informed that they are a easy build and pass the SVA test without any problems

I want to go with the colour of the Diablo Kit below but have no idea as to its name,

Some say it is call DARK CHERRY PEARL and others have said BLACK CHERRY PEARL if anyone has a idea to what the colour is called please PM .

Cameron, The above pic of the water usage was for Sambo's benefit as to what can happen to a complacent population when threatened with recycled sewage.

Public apathy goes right out the window....or is it right down the toot.

As to the latest wet .... Bluddy water everywhere. Both Somerset and the Pine are overflowing and Wivenhoe filling fast.

Gold Coast is getting a pasting as I type with winds up to 100Kph. One of the Major problems is stuff ( outdoor furniture/barbeques etc) being blown off high rises and landing on top of tourists.

Could only happen at the gold coast.

G'Day, Just a suggestion...the paint looks like candy apple. This stuff is very nice but scratch it and the whole car has to be repainted. The paint is very well described by it's name. A toffey apple or candy apple is simply an apple coated with a clear layer of toffey. The paint works the same. There is a base coat of silver or gold then the transparent tint goes over top. Extra layers of tint make the colour darker. If it's damaged it's near impossible to match because you can't blend in the colour...it would make the rest of the panel darker. If it isn't candy apple...try House Of Colour.. they sell a very nice colour chart book. It's a bit pricey but what cost is perfection ?
