The Hare and Forbes cataloge turns up in the post every year and I'm usually drooling all over it for a few months. She knows I really enjoy all the machining stuff so when my B-Day came round she said "Why don't I buy you a nice new lathe with all the bells and whistles". We proceded to go through the catalogue and I pointed out the machines I liked. I've been keen on the AL-1000C for a long time. It's a Taiwanese built tool room quality lathe. She said "OK, lets get that one..."
I love this woman. 
I optioned it up with a DRO and a quick change tool post too. It's a really nice and very accurate machine. I'm looking forward to getting it home.
