Default OT - Eric Bana - Love The Beast Trailer

This has potential...

http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=3Uh2QXw3-UE

"Eric Bana has announced that he’s working on a documentary-style feature film that explores people’s passions for their hobbies and interests. Love the Beast will not be exclusively car-oriented, but will focus heavily on passions of the automotive kind. Given Bana’s 25-year love affair with his own Ford XB GT Coupe, the Targa contestant will feature prominently in the film."

Taken from here.

Pull all your money (whats left of it) out of the share market and buy all the XB coupe's you can find. They'll be in big(ger) demand when that comes out. Looks great.

If only Mr Bana would produce the Top Gear Australia. SBS probably couldn't scratch up his appearance fees but the man has the character, larrikin attitude and motoring knowledge.

I have been a big fan of the 70's Aussie Coupe's for ages.

For about a year, a year prior to starting on my Cobra I was driving past a XC Cobra Coupe (351/4 speed) that looked great and the guy was trying to sell for $5k.

I didn't really want something that big (and petrol was getting expensive) but decided that even though it wasn't a GT it was a pretty sweet deal and if no-one else was going to grab it then I was.

You guessed it - too late

I think Tenrocca's advice is pretty good - if only I had the space...

Wonder if the looming resession will ground some of the muscle car prices?

I havent checked other makes but I know the Chrysler (Valiant Pacer and Chargers) seem to have started dropping in price.

Cars that where selling 12 - 18 months ago at X price are now not even getting a nibble at the same or slightly lower prices.

Default "Love the Beast" -- great movie for car guys!

I only recently learned about the existence of this movie, "Love the Beast" (2009) by Eric Bana. So I promptly ordered my two-disc DVD copy from Amazon and watched it last night. Loved it!

If nothing else, Bana captured the deep passion that true car guys feel about their rides, and the way car guys connect with each other as a result.

Watching and hearing his race-prepped Falcon XB GT was also a treat -- and a heartbreak too, if you know what I mean. This is a rare car even Down Under, and virtually never seen here in the Great White North (except through reruns of "Mad Max").

Gonna check out all the DVD special features tonight.

I thought Love the Beast was great. Some excellent racing footage of the Targa Tasmania.

Love the beast is currently playing on Netflix instant watch...think I'll watch it again.
