merv,
I haven't mastered how to attach pictures to this message board (the size of my pictures exceeds the limitations of this site). If you'll provide me with an e-mail address I'll send pictures. Harold |
Merv - take a look at the FF silver\grey gallery:

Thanks - yes I have seen the FF gallery but did not see what I was looking for. I was looking for a darker grey/silver and some of those here seem very close. Sailfish a PM on the way!
Cheers, Merv |
Here is a DRB in mid 60's Jaguar Gunmetal Grey.

Nice one! I am thinking that the 'gunmetal' greys/silvers are the best.

A Little tip for when you paint the bod. Get the primer tinted close to the colour of the final finish...it hides the stone chips better than a grey or yellow primer.
This is a nice grey ...it's called Pewter... |
Thanks Rob, that is a very useful idea. Almost decided here. Will check the BMW, VW and Mercedes new car brochures later today to complete the search.
Merv PS thanks Harold for the wonderful pic! Keen to get that colour code. |
Here is a pic of Greg's CR in grey. I think he has mentioned the paint code in another thread.

Nice Ben (Greg). What was the paint code (and vehicle and model if possible)?
Merv |
The car goes next week to the painters, so this decision has to be made soon!
Went to various car dealers yesterday to look at colours of new and used cars in the bright afternoon sun and to feel the temperatures of panels. Interesting contrasts with temperatures (lighter is better of course), scratch and stone chip evidence and retained lustre on used cars. I am not having a stripe so the colour has to be 'right'. It needs to be grey/silver based, even with some black in there (e.g., Subaru Diamond Grey). No Blue or Green tints. PM sent also Harold. Many thanks to all this has been extremely helpful. Down to two choices! Merv |
Merv, out of interest - acrylic or two pack?
|
Just to add to your decision making Merv, although I don't have a stripe, mine is Titanium (a PPG paint) and I have the paint codes if you are interested.

Viper Steel Gray Metallic with Silver Stripes...

Gloss black... ? ***** to keep perfect..so I don;t bother anymore.. Still looks good IMOhttp://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...318_edited.jpg

LOvely colour Doug! Really nice but the blue tint in some conditions may not suit mine with the dark green seats. However, it looks sooo good on this car.

|
Looks nice! What is the colour name and code Cameron and which car does it come from?
Merv |
Thanks BJ and Greg. Titanium Grey it says. But I would be asked which Titanium Grey I guess? Any idea of the code or the car/model it comes from?
Merv |
Dodge Viper at a guess Merv.
