Default We have Main Engine Start

Hi Everyone one,

The beast is alive!!!!

Yesterday we got the elusive power steering return hose fitting from Pick-a-part (broke the bank it cost $1).

Put in all of the necessary fluids, coolant, oil, power steering fluid.

Spent the next 3 hours attempting to start - bugger.

Persistence pervailed and my electronics background kicked in (useful for something for a change) and I discoved we werent getting power to the Coils and Injectors. It looks like a wiring fault in my EFI relay setup - I bypassedit temporarily and it burst in to life.

Frightened the daylights out of me and my Dad as we didnt expect it to fire. Pretty loud with just headers on too.

Hopefully you can see my smiling face on this you tube post. (Still smiling this morning). I had to sit down and have a beer straight away to celebrate.

Now gotta go and check why the tacho doesnt work - I think I'll need a signal booster.

I have pics in my gallery of the headers and some engine bay stuff as well.

Anyway off to play some more. Gotta wait til 10am before I crank it up again otherwise the EPA will be around

Now I know how you all felt when you first fired up the engine. Its such an awesome relief and huge milestone.

Rgds

Gregg

Nah, that was me with the big smile on my face.

I am booked in with my exhaust man on Sat this week to do the underbody exhaust.

At least after that I will be able to start it without scaring the pants of the neighbourhood.

Now I need to sort out a couple of things before engineering.

Rgds
