There sure is...but it's blu$$y useless.

My advice...this forum is the best venue to obtain all the info you will want.

Just ask heaps of questions.

LoBelly 11-25-2008 04:43 PM

Second Rebel's opinion

(except for the diagram on where to cut the holes for the windshield)

The cars are so simple that if you need a manual then you probably shouldn't be doing the work yourself

(not that that stopped me tracking down a manual when I was a newbie...
or that I did much of the work myself ;) )

Having not been too complementary re the manual I will follow by saying that once completed you will end up with a fantabulous street cobra.

I make the distinction between street and track because the RMC is close to the heaviest cobra kit available, especially the later twin side rail versions.

stephen low 11-25-2008 05:18 PM

If I recall rightly, I too have a copy as I learnt in the early days of my build that the GForce is very similar and I thought a different manual might help me more.

Agree with above that the manuals aren't great, a good starting point that then leads into a Q&A time on this forum as one of the best sources of info.

Of course come along to one of our club meetings, with pen, paper and a lot of questions too. First wednesday in each month, East Malvern RSL.

hi rebel, my rmc twin rail weighs pretty close to 1190 kgs without me in it, i didnt think it was such a porker, how does that compare with other kits

sambo 11-25-2008 11:04 PM

Around 1050kg for a Harrison I believe.

stephen low 11-25-2008 11:34 PM

1260kg for my GForce, an RMC derivative

Cuz you are from central Queensland Tomcat, ;). And, besides, aren't you missing some fingers?:LOL:.

Without trawling around in my hard disk I tend to remember both the RMC and G-force to be approx 50 to 80Kg. heavier than some others.

That's a fair swag to swing around a track. Ya gotta get it moving and stopping which tends to make em not so good a track car.

Be interesting to see what weights the others are.

sambo 11-26-2008 12:27 AM

Les, I reckon overall car setup and choice of tyres would play a bigger role than a 50-80kg weight difference. Plenty of light weight Cobras on street rubber not doing as well as a dedicated track weapon.

Then there's the no-skills QLD drivers... ;)

BJ's Snake 11-26-2008 02:17 AM

1130 kg's for an Evans without my fat a$$ in it!

Cheers
Brett

My CR weighed 1100kg when I took it to the Nationals, but I did not have th eheavy duty tank straps fitted. :P

anaconda manual

my first kit was a rmc and was a great street car smooth ride excellent road manners . i got the anaconda manual and found it next useless i would not even use the door locks they recommend . If it looks right and works right then it is right. for example not all windscreens are the same shape so the angle at which it sits is different for every car so i move it backwards and forwards till it fits just right.
If you are not sure just ask some one who has built a rmc.
They have a lot of little quirks that is the fun of building a cobra. i am up to my 4 th cobra now this one is for the street not a track animal you know what i mean.**)

FAIR COMMENTS, IVE NEVER HAD MINE AROUND A CIRCUIT TRACK, ONLY THE DRAG STRIP AND THE STREET, I THINK ITS MORE ABOUT CAR SET UP AND POWER TO WEIGHT RATIO, MY RMC MIGHT WEIGHT 1190 KG BUT ITS PUMPING IN EXCESS OF 400KW NATURALLY ASPIRATED WHICH EQUATES TO LOW 11 SEC QTRS, MAYBE ONE DAY ILL SEE HOW SHE PERFORMS ON THE TRACK. THOSE C R KITS SEEM TO BE PRETTY HEAVY,

Rob. Smith 11-27-2008 01:47 AM

When I asked M.Moylan about a build manual he told me that If I need a book to tell me how to build the car . I shouldn't be building it. I have done so many mods now I should write a build manual myself ! ;)
P.S. mine weighed 1200 kg with the old Cleveland in it.

Hey Sambo, Just How Many Places Did The Queenslanders Fill In The Top 10 At The Nationals Before Anyone Else Got A Look In. I Rest My Case.

1100 to 1150 seems to be around the mark for a CR with a gen3\4. Rumour has it there is one ford powered one getting around that is 1300kg+. :)
