What a HOOT!!!
Yesterday I was fortunate enough to be invited on one of the best junkets.
Went to Wakefield Park for a drive day with 2 guys, from the Carrera Cup series. Drivers were Theo and James Koundouris of the Supabarn racing team and they had Rick Bates along with them (couldn't get him to fess up if he is the STIG) After peddling the Cobra round here at a leisurely 1:18, a fast lap in these was at first a little daunting, after the first lap I remembered to start breathing. Even though it was a mild 25 degree day it was incredibly hot and stuffy in the car, logged data showed 39 degrees.
Had an absolute ball. They were laping at high :59's. Got a few rides of 4 laps each.
Obviously we didn't get a steer of the Porsche, but Theo gave us some instruction in his personal ride, and Audi RS4 manual. That is a sweet ride. The Michelin Pilots weren't in the best shape by the end of the day.
The infamous Chic Henry took his Chrysler out for a few laps and managed a 1:21 on pirreli P7's, although they were protesting on every corner.
