Default Newbie: Turnkey Option

Hi Guys,

Would really value you advice on the best turnkey option (or second hand dealer) in Australia. Have tried to search the historical forums as best as possible. The superformance seems to be a prominent choice - any thoughts?

Cheers,

Cartman

Welcome Cartman,

if this is still for sale I would buy it.

But wait, there's more: Superformance Cobra for Sale!

Hi Cartman,

I bought a Superformance last year and I have no hesitation in recommending the car and CTC who are the SPF Australian agents...

If Richard's car is still for sale and the colour/set up combination works for you, you have an opportunity of saving some significant $$$ compared to replacement cost!

Regards....Paul

Warwick Harrison has a complete build option at the Gold Coast. He does good work.

Best thing to do is see the kit brands in person. Regardless of buying new or 2nd hand. Attending a local Cobra club meeting would be very informative. Also buying Custom Kitcar magazine would be a good idea.

There are lots of options to get Cobra's built. Contact both manufacturers and 3rd party kit buiders.

It all depends on what you are looking for in a Cobra replica. Body shape & even size varies between the manufacturers, so does chassis & suspension design.

Superformance(CTC) offer a great product but ability to customise is limited. So if you want a full custom hand built Cobra, you will need to look at the local manufacturers.

Good luck with it.

Am I right in saying that a turnkey vs an already registered car are two different things? Eg, do all turn keys come engineered and ready to drive? Just a late night thought...

Absolutely YES. Taken from one of his posts (rants) of about 8 months ago. Liked it a lot more than his BITE ME moniker.

I may be wrong but I believe that they are DRB cars at Yatala. They would seem to have scaled back some of their range of products and services, but they could best advise. Was this the source that you used:

DRB - High Performance Sportscars | AC Cobra | GT40 | DRB540
