Bye Bye Sweetheart.
After six years and about 140,000 extremely happy kilometres, I said farewell to my beloved bumblebee yesterday ...:(:CRY:
Will have to crank up the visits to the racetrack with the "race" Cobra over the coming months until the new beast is created. Got the new plates, and the new mags already...just have to fill in the other bits as soon as possible. New baby: Harrison, LS7 Tremec TR6060 8.8 Cougar IRS Live side pipes Knock off Halibrand Vintage wheels Full Leather Interior etc.etc etc. I guess I'll forget about sleep for a while. Regards, Warren. |
Wow!
Warren,
Is the new beast and I do mean beast! LS7!!! just for the track? |
Sounds good Wazza, when do you think you will have your new one finished?

Probably will end up on a drag strip from time to time...just to see if the LS7 is as exciting as it sounds. I still have the Race Cobra ( Red one ) for all the track events. Looking forward to creating something "special" I recon I learned a lot through the last 6 years of upgrading/changing the black and yellow car. Don't know how long it will take, but would be cool to bring the two cars to the Nationals this year. We'll do our best, and see what happens. Cheers. |
Another recruit for The Dark Side

I feel so unclean....after the conversion to a "Dark Sider " !!
If I thought Ford had an engine anywhere near as good as the LS7 appears to be...I'd stick to the Fords, ... But the reality is that those LS7's would give a jellyfish a fat...they're bloody awesome, and perfect for the car. They fit, they go like stink, they're a 427 they're put together like a swiss watch.. Anyone got a tissue ??!! Only listened to "Heidelberg's" car on the youtube about a million times. Had to stop while I only need glasses, and not the guide dog !! I recon the LS7 / Tremec TR6060 willl be a perfect combo for a Cobra ..........I.M.H.O. Cheers, Wazza. |
Wazza, any spare pages in your cheque book? :)
Tell us more about this Cougar IRS. |
Traitor.
Regards. |
Only kidding, new setup sounds great. If I was starting again I would use the LS7 as well. Im not familiar with the 6060, what would be the difference with a 600?
Regards. |
Go for it Warren!!!
Warren, if watching the "youtube" clip gave you a woody, you wait till you get into the drivers seat and get into her a bit! :D:D:D
Seriously, the LS7 is simply awesome....I've clocked up about 1500 kms since rego late last year and 90% of my driving has been very sedate cruising and the LS7 is an amazingly smooth motor that feels like it's got endless torque and is perfectly happy just pottering along at just above idle....When you get that "stirring feeling" and you fancy a bloodrush, put the right foot down a bit and instantly you're in different car, not thinking about anything and unable to stop smiling!!! In all honestly, I think I've have the motor working at 10/10ths for probably 3 to 6 seconds at a time for a couple of dozen times or so and it's only then that you understand just how close the emotions of fear and excitement really are!! My 2 cents worth - go for it, you won't regret your decision! Regards......Paul |
hey wazza, who bought the bumblebee, what did you get for it, and how many neddies does one of these ls7s put out. tomcat

Very nice to hear from you big boy....but a gentleman doesn't tell... I will say....... that a very nice chap from Cairns is the new owner....... I got a fair price, and it'll go towards the new Cobra, which will probably cost up around the $100,000. The new engine is good for 505 hp. off the shelf, and has "one billion torques"!! For those who are interested in the LS7 , the attached link will give you all the info....it's impressive to say the least. http://corvettemuseum.com/specs/2006/LS7.shtml Only kidding, new setup sounds great. If I was starting again I would use the LS7 as well. Im not familiar with the 6060, what would be the difference with a 600? Regards. __________________ Mando Hey Mando, The TR6060 is basically the next generation T56, with a number of improvements in strength and driveability. See this link for more info........ http://www.ls1-australia.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3765 Unfortunately it also "improved" in price, compared to the T56..... i.e. improved for the dealer not for yours truly. I'm happy to go with a T56 , but if I can , this next step up looks the goods. A lot of the stuff going into the new car is a bit expensive, but I think you get what you pay for, and hopefully the end result will be fast, strong, and beautiful, and I end up with a car that I can drive it's ring off without breaking any bits. That's the plan anyway.....we'll see how it all comes together over the coming months. |
youre no pluking gentleman, fancy going over to the dark side, you must have had a brain snap. oh well at least youve still got the windsor race car, why dont you stick a serious windsor in that thing and mix it with gary walther, he flogs everyone else on the track and hes only pumping about 360 cubes. its not hard to build a tough ford engine just spend some of those reddies youve got lying about. what are ya , a man or a mouse, squeek up.:LOL::LOL: tomcat

Wazza well done on the car going. Second one from up there. heard a blue one is heading to the west as well.
Damn I like the factory you are in. It great to see some nice architecture rather than the tin wall fascade..%/ Look forward to the new beast. |
Congrats mate on the sale.
Sounds like an exciting new project. You will have to talk to John about his driving experiences with the LS7 when he was over in the USA. |

we love our "concrete box" we work in every day....best thing I ever bought! The complex was built/ developed by a well known racing nut....Kerry Bailey...a champ in the Sports Sedans all around Australia. I often have a chuckle when I see his car belting around the track at somewhere like South Australia, with his sign writing all over the car advertising our Industrial complex up here at Mudgeeraba. Mightn't make any sales for him, but I'm sure all the racing expenses become "advertising and Promotion" http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...ernoon_002.jpg http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...57_Medium_.jpg http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...30_Medium_.jpg http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...10_Medium_.jpg |
Warren,
nice one. I recon you will build quite the show pony. It's not the dark side that has me concerned, it's letting you loose on a new project where there is no limit on Bling! Cameron |
I'm not a flashy person....you know that Mr. Parsons.
Less is more I say!! |
Should be a great car Warren. We all await with interest for the outcome! How are you going to run live sidepipes?

Kerry Bailey
WAZZA,
Great to see you OLD car gets a good home. It was one of the nicest DRB'S I have seen. Great colour's and a very nice/neat car. I was amazed when you and a couple of your mates DROVE to the SHELBYFEST a few years back, now I know why its done 140k's..:eek: LS7!!!!!! I have the small 6 Liter version (VERY IMPRESSED, STOCK NO TUNE, PENSIONER EXHAUST) The LS7 will be a weapon. I have met Kerry Bailey a few times at the races, a nicer bloke you will never meet. Good luck with the build. STIFFY |
