Further progress update - Slowy's rebuild
Delivered the rebuilt roller into Marty's shed some time back along with a number of boxes including the new TKO600 and clutch.
To keep things very easy I bought a bunch of Dellow's bits to enable a direct fit between TKO and motor whilst achieving a hydraulic clutch and retaining the same starter. Both the fork lever and starter are in the standard locations to keep it all simple.
Marty bolted the whole shebang together and installed the motor and box into the chassis as seen above and fabricated a nifty looking rear gearbox mount.
Below he has also finished fabricating my twin roll bars and the third leg arrangements using the new seat belt tower again of his design.
One of the questions I was itching to know was where my new gear shift selector would end up in the tunnel. I deliberately ordered the box with the standard shifter rotated 180 degrees to move it about 3 - 4 inches forward.
The GForce tunnel has a long open section as you can see in the first pic with the T5 trying to come out at the back of this. Gives you an idea how much the modern boxes have grown over toploaders and the like.
But the TKO fits like this. Excuse the out of focus pic but you get the idea!
Basically the new shifter is at least 4 inches further forward.
This is excellent as the old shifter needed my arm to be just slightly back of a neutral location on the tunnel. Seems I'll have to get a new shift lever now.
There's still a long list to work through but it's happening.
Enjoy
