Hi Max. This thread might have some clues, with at least one aluminium bodied Kirkham confirmed in Melbourne.

Mando 03-03-2009 02:53 AM

Maxwell, RMC Sportscars in WA are importing Kirkham rollers from Nevada.
Maybe worth talking to them.:)

I now feel stupid, been trying to upload pics for 2 hours now.Yes ive followed everyones advice ,and my inhouse IT expert [my 12year old daughter] is not around !
Have no problems with emailing pics. Can i just email them to someone???
Feeling quite inadequate!

sambo 03-04-2009 09:28 PM

Soulman, if someone else posts them, they won't be in your gallery, so we can't click the camera icon under your name to see them. Best wait for IT support to arrive. :)

Hey there Soulman,
This may be a big coincidencs, I dont know.
But how many Black Cobra's would have been around in Victoria in the mid 80's, I guess not many.
I say this as it was a black Cobra that I saw as a young fella (thought it was early 80's) that made me fall in love with them, from memory it was down around Frankston way near the jetty when I saw it, fell in love and swore I would own one one day.
I am just wondering if your car is the same car.
http://i636.photobucket.com/albums/u...Picture330.jpg

Do you know all of its history?
Could it have been in the Bayside area in early to mid 80's?

soulman 03-05-2009 08:40 PM

Not sure Boxhead?

Not sure Boxhead ,
I do live bayside- Patterson Lakes. But definenitly wasnt driving mid 80s.The car is actually very dark blue but looks black.
The car you might have seen was a black Arntz with a Chev in it, this car was the reason i too fell in love with Cobras.
I remember first seeing it a MG car show in Toorak ,Melbourne, i was 17 at the time- now 42.
My car is 1968 registered with ford 407ci-stroked ,old school performance 450+hp.4spd toploader.S type jag rear end with an MG upgraded front end.All original dash and interior.Goes as well as it looks.
Im thinking about selling it as i havent driven for over 2 years-since i picked up my Kirkham.
So if you any one let me know.
Good luck.
Soul.

boxhead 03-05-2009 09:34 PM

You may be right, as my memory places the car in about 1980-82, I was about 11-13.
I never saw under the bonnet and at that time would not have known anything about the motor apart from it being big and a V8.

For some reason I thought it was an Arntz car (not sure if there was a display sign or my stepfather pointed it out)

maxwell 03-05-2009 10:26 PM

Unbelievable Soulman,

They have to be the 2 best looking Cobras ive seen.
Are u going to be at ShelbyFest?
How much do you think you will be selling the glass one for$$$. I was thinking of building a car but Victorian rego a real headache . If the blue one is registered as 1968 do ADR laws never apply? Whats the chances of talking to you direct? i live in Brighton .
Thanks Max.
