Cobra to GT40 in reverse
Just curious, many people I know have gone from a Cobra to a GT40 but has anyone ever gone GT40 to a Cobra...

Not that I can recall at the moment. Although there are quite a few GT40 owners who own Cobras.
I know a few GT40 owners who have now moved onto other vehicles. But...cough...I shouldn't say what they are.

Not a GT40 to cobra story but a transition to another cool car. Cobra to coupe to FFR GTM.
None other than our very own Warrick Harrison.

One for the track....with one still in the box to be registered for the road.

Wow... well there you go... All comes down to personal preference then hey! But geez 1 of those things is UGLY enough... 2 is like going back to the ugly girl from the drunken night before but sober and at high Noon.
That SPF GT40 coming to the Goldy is looking very very nice indeed!
Now back to Cobras.......

Ugly !??
I think that's a bit harsh !!
It may not have the lines of a Cobra or a GT40 but it goes like a bat outta hell!!
Approx 360 RWHP and only weighs around 600 kilos with the driver !!
VERY exciting.......
It'll lap most Cobras.......but you're right.......
it's something that would appeal more to the Racers than the Waxers.

RCR is working on a low budget purpose-built track racer, looks sorta like the RCR SL-R, but a single seater powered by a Hayabusa motorcycle engine. Here's a link (photos in the very first post!):
http://www.gt40s.com/forum/rcr-forum...r-nemesis.html
I like the idea of a road registered one, looks for all the world like a go-kart on steroids.........would be scary fast, I believe.
Now back to your regularly programmed entertainment.....

On contrare Senior Boylan. A 917 is sexy or any of those 70's BIG BANGERS appeal... But go-carts don't look sexy don't no matter what HP to weight they got.. A Formula Ford will do sub 60's at Wakefield and ya can't tell me their horny looking????
Each to their own...

Wazza, I think Spookypt was spot on with his description of that Go-kart thing, and to buy 1 may be seen as misguided but to buy 2 would have to be madness.
Are sure your not getting kickbacks to endorse this Go-kart.
Regards.

Actually I might be a bit biassed. But I'm actually really liking the SL-R's.
In my opinion the SL-R looks really impressive in the flesh. And much larger than Formula Ford etc.
Well you guys will find out soon enough.
Now that's a no-nonsense rear.
Enjoy.
Now weren't we talking about guys moving from GT40's to Cobra's. My definition of that would be someone selling GT40 to buy a Cobra. Otherwise I would also count, as I have owned both Cobra's and GT40's and bought a Cobra while owning a GT40. Still can't think of anyone that has really done the move. And I don't count Gary's car, it's really just a race car that happens to have a Cobra body. But that's just my opinion.

I'm with Wazza, I think they are sexy looking in a masculine sorta way. The car I mean, not him.
I'm of a mind that this jigger would provide those who want to race relatively cheaply, a means of doing so.
Blow an engine....go to the wrecker and buy another. Drop it in without being a contortionist.
I don't know what the kit now costs but prior to the $A devalue the whole thing without engine was somewhere in the $20,000's.
Just the ticket for cobra/GT40 owners who don't want to risk damaging their pride and joy.
Sadly it's not a cobra so will race in some other class.
