Default Red - landofcobra-cliffe!

Doesn't anyone work up there! I was travelling out at clontarf today (working) and saw two red cobras in 10 bloody minutes!
The first red with full chrome roll bar and the 2nd one 5 mins later red with a single hoop bar!
I know people go there to retire but that was ridiculous!
Looked sweet though all the same...

Yep.. I'm jealous!

Nope ... me? .... driving a red cobra? .... never.

Hell ... I won't even drive silver ones.

I am guilty of charging around that local in a blue one occasionally tho.

I'd like to know how ya got past quarantine to even be allowed to venture to the North side. You being a South sider and all that.

The peninsular is the best kept secret in SEQld as far as Cobras go.

Exactly Matt, we on the North side think 75mm to be the minimum qualification .... nothing less will do according to our local female blue rinse retirees .

I'm amazed you've even got Cobra's in that neck of the woods

What with all that Pelican Sh$t to deal with from up above when you cross the draw bridge

Pete, Talking about that new bridge .... I saw the longest piles I have ever seen on site ready to be driven into the mud.

Me thinks the bluddy things will surface at the other end of the earth after they drive them.

When the new one is finished we'll have double the pelicans.

Pile length is determined by bearing pressure.

Obviously because of years and years of pelican sh$t they have to be long enough to get through all the crap

I wouldn't be surprised if the piles are 25 to 30m long given that we've just installed 25m piles at Loganlea, which has probably similar geotech properties to Redcliffe i.e. mush & no rock founding level.

End of lesson

There's a concrete bridge down here, built in the early sixties, that is sitting on bales of wool ! The surrounding area is river sand and mangrove. Back in them days there wasn't concrete tecology and them trees weren't long enough to make the big piles...so they dug big holes and put in wool bales then poured the concrete over that. It's still good.

Reddo? Sandfly heaven? Noooo I agree it is a lovely place. Now I am a Northsider too - albeit far north - of Brisbane.

I think the real question is what was Spooky doing in Redcliffe?

Exactly Merv, that's why we have the pelicans sitting on the bridge light staunchions ...... they're supposed to keep an eye out (or make a deposit ) on riff raff from southern areas.

There is a house of ill repute at Clontarf ... maybe that's where he visited.

Hehehehe, Pete, if I did it would be the closest I'd get to getting any.
