Default Centering hood scoop

How many people rework the hood scoop to be centered on the hood? You don't really notice the scoop being off when you have a single color paint job. You see it more when your racing stripes are not centered on the scoop. I saw the photos of the work RobV did to fix his. It looks like a whole lot of sculpting and sanding I'm pretty sure I don't want to deal with. I was thinking I could replace my scoop with an aftermarket, bolt-on and save a lot of that fiberglass work. Cobra Restorers has one for $80. Opinions?

I think you'll find the most common setup to be with the hood scoop centered while the opening in the hood is off center within the scoop.

I wish I had redone mine. Mine was painted out of town and was delayed so much I told the painter to just get it done. So he centered mostly on the scoop, but that put the la mans stripes not centered on the trunk handle bump.
Stilll trying to figure out how to make it look right

Left mine like it was, but I'm a single color so...
If I remember correctly in the original thread, they stated that the original car, the scoop was off.

Larry... I was thinking your car looks fine being a single color. Even the car on the cover of the B&B manual looks like the stripe was painted to compensate for the scoop being off center.

I guess I lucked out on this issue. My hood, doors, and truck came oversized like the manual said they were. I had read about this scoop issue earlier so I was able to center the scoop by taking the excess out of one side, which moved it over.
