Default Seat Sliders

I just got the seat tracks from B&B. Has anyone installed these? They have studs on them, do these go up to the seat or down through the seat supports (I am thinking down). There are self tapping bolts, do these go through the seat and into the track?

Tom:

I've got them on the driver's side (guess I'm too short). Left the passenger side bolted to the frame. Take into consideration that the driver's seat will be slightly higher than passenger. I think you are correct they do go down. I'll check when I get back home this afternoon and give you more info then.

I mounted my tracks to a 1/8" pice of aluminum and the seat to it because the tracks would not line up with the seat rails and the studs in the floor.

I mounted mine on the driver's side too because I am a shorty (5'7"). However, the extra inch in height has me sitting up too high in the saddle. I took an inch out of the seat cusion to compensate, but I'm thinking about taking the tracks out all together and bolting the seat back to the floor, but up close so I can reach. I have an LA exotics, which is a bit different, and I got my tracks from FinishLine. I had to do a LOT of drilling and tapping to get them to fit.

Tom:

Sorry it took a while to get back to you. I've been busy at work and out of town this weekend. Mine are mounted on the original seat track (post up). I agree they make you sit up a little higher in the seat. I'm sure I wanted to take the amount out of the seat cusion to justify the argh in the dairyaire for a 2-3 hour non-stop ride Be careful on drilling the holes (if you haven't already drilled them) to make sure you don't turn the bottom of the seat into swiss cheese. But even when I have the hard-top on the seat difference is no that bad. The problem I have is the stuipd lever on this thing isn't long enough. But heh that would just be one more thing we would have to retro fit on these cars.
