Default Tips for swapping engines?

Well, the time has come. The FRPP 347 is fully accessorized. The only items that are swapping from the old engine to the new are the oil pressure and water temp sender. I even tried ordering new senders, but the have not come yet. Any tips on swapping the engine on a completed car?

I will be using an engine leveler. Does the radiator need to come out? Should I jack up the rear?

I have never swapped an engine. I would just make sure you have a good lift, plenty of hands on stand by to help maneuver the engine. I would take everything out of the way that I could Radiator etc. The more things out of your way the less likely you are to have a mishap. It is a lot easier to remove things before then during the process.

Default engine swapping

Hi Tom! I swapped my engine out 3 times in my other cobra, If you plan on using a cherry picker (foldable crane hoist) I found out it was easier to take off the front tires and go in from the side since the engine sets too far back against the firewall it was lot more manuverable. And i would go ahead and take the radiator too i was able to get it with it in car but it did rub and flattened a couple cooling fins . Hope this helps Tom! Lonny (greensnake)
