Default windshield install ?

when putting the windscreen on there are alluminium escution plates that interfear with the windscreens rubber gasket. do we trim the gasket and does it (the rubber)shrink or cut the plate or let it ride on top . Does anybody have a pic of the solution?

I too used black silicone under the rubber seal. In my case, I felt the rubber didn’t fit quite several places across the length of the rubber seal. I put a small bead of black silicone under the front edge of the rubber. I then taped the whole thing down to dry. I put a piece of tape on the body in front of the seal to keep things clean. The tape allowed me to clean any excess silicone away easily. I used a piece of plastic to smooth the silicone under seal where it showed on the inside.
