Default True Knock Offs

Is there anyone that owns a B&B running either a set PS Engineering knock offs with the adaptors or a set of Trigo's with adaptor and knock off?

If so does your front wheels fit completely under your fenders?

Thanks,

Clois

I have a set of Vintage wheels and their std frt wheel is 8 .5 " X 17" with a 4 .5" backspace and on my B&B I get about 2" of wheel and tire sticking outside my fender.

I noticed that ,thought it was an oklahoma style thing. Ha ha. I wish i had knock offs. the spacer /adaptor changes the backspace , but you know that. i'm very nervose about ordering wheels for that same reason,I want my wheels under the fenders completely.

If you guys are running a solid axle w/o it being narrowed you may have issues. IRS systems usually have less width and are better equiped for pin drive whether it be 6 pin or 5 pin. Offset from a pin drive wheel is usually 3.5" and with a solid axle you will need at least 4.5" if not more to keep it under the body.

I have Compomotive HB pindrives. They know the car and will spin up a set for you that fit just right.

4 1/2" rears work quite well or even a 3 1/2" rear will work it is the front tires that I have an issue. The Vintage will not fit nor will PS Engineering. I haven't tried Trigo's (yet). I have a set of Compomotive bolt on that work just fine (front and rear).

Clois,

You may want to PM another CC member, 496FE (Brian). I believe he built a B&B and he even shortened the A-arms by an inch to move them inward and gain more clearance with his knock-off rims. I've seen the car and he knows his stuff regarding fabrication. He kept eyeballing the suspension on my SPF to figure out how they were able to engineer the front suspension so this sort of thing doesn't happen. He can't run a Goodyear billboard on the fronts for the same reason...the sidewall bulge sticks out. I told him to look at a MT street drag radial (235 size) instead as another option...pump them up to 32psi and they stick reasonably well once they get warm. Although I'm not aware of anyone that has tried them on a track for several laps.

Ironically Dean I am running the Billboards on my Compomotive rims but when I tried a set of Vintage wheels my fronts stuck out about 2" beyond the fender (Vintage wheels and tires were 8 1/2" wide with a Hoosier 275 X 45 X 17" Tire. I will give him a call to see what he has experienced with bump steer and handling issues.

Thanks,

Clois
