My car came with the Haywire wiring harness assembly. Everything went fine and all works properly except the horn blows all the time with the battery connected. I have not installed the steering wheel yet on the I Did It column but can't imagine that is the problem. Literature and diagram with the fuse box indicate a horn relay but it doesn't have a horn relay I can find. One relay is the fan and I can't remember what the other one is but it isn't for the horn. I take both relays out and the horn still blows if battery connected. I will call B&B tomorrow and Haywire if necessary but wondered if you guys had a similar issue and found a fix. I didn't need to modify wiring to make things work so I am assuming I didn't screw it up installing the wiring kit. It is a 7 Fuse set up. (Yes I do disconnect the horn and it isn't sounding all the time!)
You definately have a relay for your horns. You just haven't found it. Haywire supplies the wiring for Hurricane Cobras and ALOT of the owners (myself included) received relay packs that were wired wrong. It seems to be an ongoing problem with Haywire because after many complaints, they still send them out the door wired incorrectly.

did you have a wiring problem with your low beam on the headlights? Mike Lane build a Hurricane and had a few wiring issues, relays and low beam. His low beam lights burn dim. High beam are OK.

Mike installed relays on the high & low beams but still has a problem with the low beams. I think a wire is crossed or bad ground. With the low beam as dim as they are, I think he has a hot wire with a series load.
He has the high beams adjusted low and drives it that way at night. When we get some time we find the problem. That's part of the fun.

horn blowing is probably a short in the ididit steering collumn . mine was really messed up.I had to take it all apart and sillicone it back together to fix the nylon parts that were broken.

On many cars nowadays (especially non-US built), the horn and headlights are hot-wired and protected by a fuse. The horn button or light switch makes the ground to complete the circuit. I see there is no reference to a horn relay in the Haywire description of your harness. If you have tied into a ground some where, the horn will blow as long as the battery is connected. The same thing will happen if a relay (used for the horn) has welded up the contacts, and is permanently "making". Seen it happen many times.
Thanks, PM. Actually they really did leave the horn relay out! Haywire said it was B&B, B&B said it was Haywire. Called Haywire and they sent me a relay kit immediately at no charge. They almost couldn't belive it either. I installed the relay kit and it works fine now. A small bump in the road but Haywire was anxious to make it work. Thanks, Bob
