Which engine did you go with?

Don't cry over 602... Trust me. We can talk Saturday when I get back with these 3.

Have you ever driven 602 - or even seen it? %/

Jerry and Ted from SunCoast Cobra have "build" and serviced 602 - and prior to my purchase they inspected and drove the car...

Funny that you in an email congratulate me: "WOW, 40 with options or 40 plus options?" ... and that a dealer tells me that he even were trying to get it

Cawley had a great deal on hand for a fantastic boat - needed the cash.
l pulled the trigger first - Cawley got his boat and I got 602 :D

Do I smell bitterness?

Enough said: Good luck on Saturday - hope the two of you strike a deal...

I think you are getting all bent for the wrong reasons. Good luck with the car.

Why is this thread so hostile? I'm would normally guess that it is because we are almost thru winter but half the members writing didn't have a Cobra last fall. So what is it... really it doesn't matter... in the famous words of Rodney King "can't we all get along"

I must admit I laugh everytime I see the title. ...buying but cash straped...

peters44 02-17-2010 06:58 AM

Get the car you want. When you are talking 40k to 50k + get everything you want and don't settle for less over 5k. I purchased my new Backdraft in 2007 and got the options I wanted and have enjoyed my car with no regrets. Unless you are going to hold out for a distress sale and be first in line you still probably wont get the options you want like the color and motor.
Go see Jay and Brian and see all you cost options. The deals they are currently running for a new warrantied car cant be beat. What you save in finding a steal some were might end up costing you more in the Long run.

Best of luck finding your new car.
Peter

It has to be hard to be politically correct all the time!!! You have hundreds of customers to deal with, while most of us have just ourselves. You need to hike your price up for the PIA you put up with!!!

This thread has become hostile because of the same handful of posters that turn many a thread in this forum hostile...

NOTE: where there's a will there is a way. Life's too short. We need to have fun with the time we have. Just Go For it. even if you need to spend a bit More. In the long run whats an extra few $kk in the grand scheme of things.

This way here you can get brand new and custom order and tailer the car you want. This will make for LONG time enjoyment.

My take on is if you can afford it is simple. If you are late 50's about to retire and cant pay cash and assume you loose every penny NO DO NOT BUY IT. Why jeopardize retirement.

If you are 40's and have secure employment, go for it, you aint going to be young much longer, see note above. You can always get into it and back out and recover.

Call me nuts but I also feel if you cant pay cash you should not own one, it is frivoulous toy that keeps you awake at night and you look forward for a spin everytime the sun comes out. In fact I am waiting fo the fog to burn off right now!!!!

Good Point Madmaxx. Sometimes I think I bought mine too soon in life, because I needed the be a little financial creative to get one, but I have no regrets so far, even with the questionable economy. I'm either lucky or care free I guess. I also think I got married toooo soon, but we wont get into that.

You forgot about us early 60's guys that have some money and plan on going out of this world with our finger firmly extended.

Cashburn 02-22-2010 06:27 PM

CONGRATULATIONS PHIL!

and Rick too!

pjmoore2003 02-22-2010 06:51 PM

So, based on some of the comments, I might be the youngest guy in this Northeast Group. Well, my wife said I had to do it before the baby got to school age, otherwise I would be an old fart before I did it!

Anyone wondering, I got Rick's silver car. Beautiful!
