Do you know what kind of power your going to have with that engine? They say 500 plus, its my guess with no emmissions and a good tune you should see closer to 600!!! Can't wait to see your results.

Really have no idea. I was going to do a supercharged aluminator but could not do AC with the supercharger (not enough room). The SC engine was going to be
600 plus. I hope the XS is in that ballpark. Jay says it will rev to 8000 rpm. That should sound good through the side pipes. However, Jay has assured me I will not want for power

Looks like mine will be #1226. The description is up on the Backdraft site but not a picture yet. Hope to see it for the first time any time now. Gets more exciting everyday. Looking foward to seeing the build process.

My car is in your group, looks like #1230 for now. Congrats on the new toy, I'm quite sure you will love the BDR and the guys at Vintage know these cars top to bottom.

I'll be watching your build, probably be right next to one another on the Vintage build page

Yours is the tux black with green outline. That is going to be one sick ride.
What engine are you going with in yours? It looks like you already have one are you keeping both or upgrading?

I sold the other car, I was going to just switch out the motor originally but with the additional horsepower we felt best doing solid mounts all around along with a few other things, which is a lot of work so we decided to just sell the other car (which sold in 1 day BTW) and build this one with everything we needed from the start.

I had an all alum 427 from Ford Racing-going with a 445CI NA motor, I thought hard about going the modern route but decided to stick with old school. Jay had a Coyote set up at the AC show...they did a super sweet job on it and its hard to argue with the turn key drivability of the modern set ups. I recall him ribbing me about how the hood hardware was less of a concern to the owners of the newer style engines because they seldom had to open it...

Best of luck-you're going to love it, not your typical hot rod

Wanted something I could take out and drive. Plan on using it on the mountain roads around where we live. Love reading all the treads on the forum about the guys taking their cars out and running them hard. That is what I plan on doing.

Congrats! I don't often post but felt a need to say as well, Jay and Brian are fantastic. I bought #1154 back in 10/2012 and found the entire process went better than I ever expected. The only thing I would disagree with Jay on is the waiting part...it doesn't feel like it goes that quicky! The wait sucks!

Thx T-I can't take credit for that one, Jay recommended it...Im super happy with it, one thing that's for sure is these cars look WAY better in person than in a pic. Although whoever takes the pics in South Africa needs a 3 minute lesson in photography

I'll have to believe you on that one as I have never seen one in person! However, it will be a great day to see mine come off the truck.

Looks great!

Is it possible to see if they (or Vintage) can paint the engine bay and more importantly the nose black while the drivetrain is still not in the car?

They used to be black, most of the engine bay is clad with stainless so not that much of the fiberglass shows. The protective film is covering the SS in the pic so it looks VERY white. I looked at the cars with white at the show in Atlantic City and it really didn't look much different to me than my black one (on the BDR I sold), once all of the "stuff" is in there I thought it looked pretty cool.

My car has white, and if I had white strips I would like it. But I don't. The white looked awkward/out of place on the front of my car. I painted the nose area black, and just for the sake of cleaning if the motor ever gets pulled, the engine bay is being painted. ...just a suggestion while it's an easy job, but you obviously already know what you are getting.
