Default Backdraft #BDR 1220

This is my first post I've been reading the information on this site. I sold my boat which was not used very often. The information here has been very helpful and provided me everthing to make a very good decision. I just ordered Backdraft build #BDR 1220 with the 427 Ford Racing engine with 480hp. I can't wait to take delivey. I had the chance to purchase a used 289 original cobra in 1968. My father said no you"ll kill youself. I felt like Ralphy in a Christmas Story. (YOU'LL SHOOT YOUR EYE OUT). Dad finally signed for a 1970 Dodge Superbee with a 440 Six pack go figure. I traded a 1966 Dodge Charger with a 383 4 barrel 4 speed on the Superbee. Yea I'm 65 and don't feel any different than I did at 35. I still climb trees over 25 feet to havest deer and I guess I will untill I can't. . I know alot of freinds that think that 65 is the new 45 go figure.

If 65 is new 45, what age am I? The calendar says 60 but I still think and act like a kid.
I did give up keg parties and my wife is best part of my life.

I have had my BDR for a year. I got it with a 306 because I was afraid of killing myself with a 427. It took me a couple of months to feel confident driving the car on my neighborhood streets. It was a different driving experience for me.
My advice is to take it easy driving your new toy in order to develop a "feel" for the way it handles, and then, even though you may act like you are younger, drive like your age.

Well finally received my car from Custom Cars on Friday June 14th. Working with Irwin Rawet was great. The car is beautiful. Like everyone says the pictures do not do it justice you have to see it in person. Well now the wait for a title begins. I've sent all of the paperwork to the Virginia DMV. The wait could be as long as 3 weeks to get a title. Then it's down to the local DMV with title in hand to get tags. I can't wait to drive it!!!

Well it's taken me 6 weeks to have the car titled in Virginia. Got tags on Friday 26, 2013. It could only have standard tags since it was manufactured in 2013. New tag will be 6T5-427. However it is titled as a 1965 Cobra Roadster and will not need emission test. On first trip to fill up with gas had people taking pictures, wanting to see engine and asking where did I get it. By Sunday I had people hollering at me, people on motorcycles waving, and people flagging me down asking what it was. I had no idea these car were so popular. I'm enjoying ever minute watching other people enjoying a car that is 50 year old. What an absolute fun time!!! The car performs flawless.
