Default Another Newbie in Holding Pattern

Been lurking on this site for awhile, but finally pulled the trigger and purchased a Backdraft from Radical Roadsters in Houston. These next few month's waiting are going to stink.

Tell us what options, colors and engine/trans combo did you go with?

You made the right choice by buying a Backdraft and James will always be available to answer any questions you have.....

So you ordered your Cobra from James Yale? He is a good friend of mine and I will see him in a couple of weeks in San Marcos. I will ask him to get the lead out and get your car to you asap. Glad you are joining the family and feel free to drop by my house sometime. I am at 81st and 270th E. Ave. Let me know if you need any help with your new BD. There are several of us Cobra guys in the area.

Thanks guys. Yes, I haven't even met him yet, but James Yale has been more than patient with me and my questions. Looking really forward to meeting the "voice".
As far as the car goes, it will be 1344, grey with the silver stripes and a single roll bar. Doing a KeithCraft 408W and the T-600. Looking probably around the mid May timeframe so this wait is going to stink.
I'm glad to hear of other Cobras in the Tulsa area, as I have never seen one. Planning on some trips down to RR, and watch them put the baby together and hopefully learn a thing or two.

Only concern I have is the wife wants to learn how to drive a standard. Yikes!!!

Thanks guys,

Mike

You need to trim that air cleaner stud shorter or better yet replace with a tapered allen head screw.

Thanks for the tip Maxx. I have yet to see the engine in person yet, but I think James just threw it on there for pictures sake. I like the allen head screw idea though.

I know the feeling, ordered my BDR on 2/1/14 and looks like it'll be Mid May when I get it... and I can't wait!

Nice looking Cobra! The waiting may suck but it'll all be worth it when you get in, fire it up and hit the streets.

Like Clois said, theres quite a few around Tulsa, I'm in Claremore and I know of at least two more in the Claremore area, not to mention one in Oolagah, and a few more in Owasso.

I am in the same boat. Ordered mine from James in May, now the wait is comparable to Christmas when I was 10 years old!
