Default Hood Locks

Is anyone using an aftermarket hood lock system? I'm not sure why but I feel the desire to replace the stock handles with something flush.

I've noticed a couple of the RT3GTs with the AeroCatch product as a factory option, but I think that's more modern than I want. In checking with BDR they say adding them post factory is a mess anyway.

I like the looks of the Quik-Latch products, semi-traditional but without the old pins and wires to scratch my hood. I've found a few threads on them in use for air-filters but nothing on anyone using them for their hood.

I'm curious about long term happiness and installation difficulty if anyone has any info.

Thanks!
Steve

Did you happen to look at the Aerocatch 2? They don't require installing pins.

Mike,

That's interesting because I hadn't seen that option. The look is still more modern than I think I want but perhaps if I paint the latches to match the car the look may be okay. I'm still waiting on my car (about 3 more weeks) so once I get it I may have to play around with some test fitting of options.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Steve

I just finished looking at pretty much every hood pin/latch/lock on the market. I'm running without a hinge and decided to make my own horizontal pins for the front and use the FFR supplied latches for the rear with some minor mods. Outside of just throwing in an aviation latch and spending money, I couldn't find anything approaching period correct that would work any better.
