Just a note wondering if you're still trying to find a paint code.
I've been very frustrated with BDR on this issue. Jay at Vintage was very kind and tried to find the code for my "Gulf Blue" even though I bought it direct from BDR and not Vintage. But even he couldn't get a response from them. I'm pretty sure that they make very few in Gulf Blue and they no longer have the code...
One lesson is that if I ever do this again I'll go through Jay as my dealer.

I never got a response. But if they followed convention the paint for Gulf Blue (light) should be Gulf Blue - Porsche 73 - Code 328 or J9

Thanks Jay, that sounds promising. I got a sample of the the Ford GT Heritage Gulf Blue, which is the GT40 Gulf Blue, but that's too light. This was confirmed yesterday at Sebring, where I saw 2 Superformance GT40s in Gulf Blue and they were noticeably lighter than my BDR.

I'll try the Porsche paint.
Thanks

So the "dealer" beats Backdraft, the manufacturer... Funny.
Vintage is far from the be all, end all regarding Backdraft/Car info...very far, he just has more time on his hands.

Most guys here should stop and do some critical thinking for themselves...possible! This stuff is not that hard. Very easy to match paint.

Are we that removed from that for these replicas?

All I can say is this: Backdraft won't answer calls or give me information at all. Many many calls with no response. I have spent exactly zero dollars with Jay, yet he tries to help me with stuff like this when I ask him. I appreciate that.
And matching car paint is as much art as science, and I've seen a lot of shops screw it up...

All one can gather is that Backdraft doesn't really give a shiit about supporting their product or helping successor purchasers. When that's the case, all you can do is take it to a real paint pro and have them laser it to determine the true makeup of the paint. Either that, or start calling the Backdraft owners up at home in the evenings and nagging them until they pull the file on the car and tell you the paint code... if they can find the file, that is.

There you go and good luck!

Remember when you bought this car you knew it wasn't a big manufacturer like Ford, GM or Fiat!!!
