Default Gas tank replacement

I have a slight leak on the weld seam of the gas tank on my backdraft RT2 any idea how hard it is to replace the tank? Is the fuel pump in the tank? Is it worth trying to get it repaired or just swap a new one in?
Thanks
Gary

If you go the welding route stick with a professional. I've gotten bruises from turning a Austin Healey 3000 tank into a beach ball thinking a couple rinses and 50% water fill and argon running inside will make it safe.

The are some welding companies out there that can do the welding and most are not cheap as they sometimes use total immersion gas (room full of Argon or inert gas).

On BDR:
The tank is easy to drop out and the pump is external unless our running EFI.

Barring that you may give epoxy a shot 1st.
see the amazon link.

I removed my tank several times. Not a hard job at all. I had a welder install a bung in the bottom of the tank in the center of rear for fuel pickup. Running fuel injection with a pump that requires gravity feed to the pump this was required. Backdraft used the connection in the center of the tank for the fuel pickup. Want work. Cost $200.00 to get the pump rebuilt by Air Motive. No thinks to Backdraft.

Where's the best place to get a new gas tank for 2007 BDR? I've got a leak on tank weld. Not sure if it's worth pressure test and weld fix buy a pro.
